    Why no NeXT section?

I was just wondering why there was no NeXT section on 68kMLA? Since NeXT's history is twisted up with Apples, and they are pretty old these days, I was just wondering why there was not NeXT specific section? - Derrik

    MachTen

I actually used it for UNIX classes and to learn UNIX in college. I ran it for for a few years before I got my first Sun box. The 68K version ran very well. It was stable and provided a powerful UNIX environment. The C compiler and X server worked as they should. It was even pretty fast...

    MachTen

Has any one ever used MachTen? I never see any reference to it here? I actually have the install disks ( more floppy's the MS office from the same era ) for 2.2, and several versions of PowerMach10 on CD. Just Wondering. - Derrik

    FINALLY ....

My first Mac as a Classic II. I used it for about 3 years until I got my 6100. I added an FPU to it, so it was actually pretty fast at Floating point stuff ( at least until I recompiled the code as native Power PC on the 6100 ), but slower that dirt for everything else. I remember, I could...

    Classic II ROM/FPU expansion board

I had one installed in my Classic II many eons ago ... but sold the FPU and memory ( I had it up too 10 Meg ) after I upgraded to a 6100. It would be cool to have 10 Meg and an FPU for my Classic II. Then again, I figure I should just get an SE/30 ... then I can put AU/X on it too. - Derrik

    Installed A/UX 3.0.1 on my Q700

I know there was a version of Oracle for AUX. If you have access to Metalink and do a Macintosh search, several support items pop up. - Derrik

    MachTEN

At one time, I actually used MachTen. Back in the Days before Linux was a viable option and even used Sun 3's were $5000.00. Resurrecting my Classic II is on my list for this year. Assuming I can get all my MachTen Floppies together and they all still work, I'll probably install it. - Derrik

Do any *nix variants support 601 upgrades?

Mach 10 will run on anything that Mac os 7/8/9 will run on, depending on your mach 10 version. - Derrik

    Replica I

Did you build your Replica-1? I think Vince is in Chardon or something like that. I know he's not far from here. A registry of Replica-1 owners would be cool, so if you wanted to meet others who have them, you could. Did you build yours? - Derrik

    Replica I

I have a Replica I. It is a pretty cool computer. It's very easy to understand, and if you can build it, you really can learn a lot about computers. - Derrik
