BINGO
I realized that there is a wireless converter between the hub that the SE/30 is connected to and the hub that the RPi is connected to.
Moved the SE/30 and connected it directly to the same hub as the RPi and now they both see each other, including the printer.
But, this is quite strange...
Both don't seem to work either.
I haven't really tried different configurations for atalkd.conf, becuase there's only one interface (eth0), and no other options. There is WiFi, but not connected or used.
So the only option in atalkd.conf is adding "eth0", which after a reboot would be...
Thanks, uninstalling Netatalk 3.x did the trick... partly.
There are no errors, everything looks OK, and I can access it from a modern macOS. But, not from a 68k Mac with System 7.1.
It simply won't appear in the Chooser "AppleShare" servers like it did on older versions of the original...
I stumbled upon this thread since I've been struggling to find a way to create an AppleShare server after Netatalk 3 has stopped functioning with the older protocols.
The latest release seemed like it went OK, but it still won't appear on my old 68k Macs, and though it does appear on the...
Seems like the PRAM Hours of Use parameter won't record anything above 43690 Hours. After that, it returns back to 0.
Is there a limit to how much hours the PRAM can record? 43690 Hours seems quite an odd number to me.
Does anyone have a clue to why the "Hours of Use" (the one you get in TechTool) gets reset a few times a week?
It should display something like 43000 hours since 2004/3/19, but about once or twice a week, TechTool would display 30 hours since 2004/3/19.
Since the manufacture date (2004/3/19)...
Thanks everyone! I finally got it to work!
Seems like the problem was with the termination.
The drive inside the case is an IBM WDS-L80 (probably) with Apple ROMs. Since it came in the LC II without any jumpers installed, I thought it was terminated by default.
Maybe, it wasn't so...
Tried SCSI probe, but it looks as if the drive isn't connected at all.
Yes, I was going to ask that too. I have a "SCSI System Cable" manual, and it says that if there is no internal drive, a terminator must be connected between the Mac and the drive (unlike the usual way: the end of the chain...
I tried using Silverlining version 5.5, and when I try to "Select Drive..." from the File menu, I get...
"SCSI bus is not responding. Check that devices are connected and powered up."
Yes, an old IBM 80MB drive (with Apple ROMS) is properly connected with SCSI ID 0.
I'm stuck.
Could the...
I'm trying to connect a SCSI HD to the Mac Plus, but for some reason, it's not recognizing it.
Actually, it's not even recognizing that the drive is connected.
Not even an old version of Silverlining will allow me to choose the disk and format it properly.
Is there some kind of trick to make...
I'm looking for a place to download MacTCP 1.1.1, however it seems like it's nonexistent on the internet.
Apple does have an official MacTCP 2.0.6 for download, but this is not what I need.
Can anyone point me to a place where I can download MacTCP 1.1.1?
Of if someone has a copy...
The four 16v 10uF capacitors on the top left are the ones that are related to the sound chip. (http://450.servehttp.com/reference/caps/, the 2nd picture from the bottom.) Replacing the 10uF capacitors have resolved "squaking" noises in both my Performa 450 (LC III) and LC II.
If the sound is...
All the SCSI hard drives in my Macs have died a while ago or have made somewhat strange noises that may be signaling death.
I've replaced all of them with CF cards and 2.5" ATA drives a few years ago, using special adaptors designed for SCSI PowerBooks. Fast and quite reliable. Still running...
I wish I did have another LC II to test, but I don't. I just tested the monitor on a Power Mac 6500 and displays the same pincushion distortion.
So, there is nothing special/different about how the LC II video circuitry is built compared with other Macs that are compatible with multiple...
Hi, first post on this forum.
I have an AppleColor High-Resolution RGB Monitor (the 13" Trinitron display made in the late 80's through the early 90's), which still works and displays a crisp picture.
But the problem is, the picture is distorted (pincushion distortion) when I connect it to a...
