Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

I don’t believe the Macintosh Classic had many accelerators. This one was for the SE/30.

Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

I’m 100% interested in one of these. If there were instructions I’ll deal with the harness myself.

    Spicy O’Clock in an SE/30?

I see. Thank you! I have no real reason to get one just yet, as my only macs are my Plus, SE, and SE/30 and I have no 040 card just yet, but it is quite a neat device.

    Spicy O’Clock in an SE/30?

Hi! I own an SE/30 and some expansion cards, as I’ve been wanting to push my Mac to its limits. I heard of some overclocking device called a “Spicy O’Clock” which overclocks 68040 processors far more than what was intended. I thought it was very interesting and I was curious as to if it could...

Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

Oh, one other question. Is it just the Turbo040 accelerator that works with this greyscale card, or will other things work, like your P33 Reloaded?

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Is this sold as a completed kit or is it just a board file with a BOM? I apologize if I’m being a dumbass here.

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Is this still being sold? edit: My bad I misread parts of the thread. Don’t answer the question, my apologies.

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

Also, what issues did you have with upgrading the RAM? I didn’t have any problems.

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

(Am I supposed to be replying like this? This is my first thread and I don’t really know the “etiquette” of how people talk here.) I am similar, I have been upgrading the hell out of my SE/30. ROMinator, 128MB RAM, ethernet riser/card, Bolle P33 Reloaded accelerator, a logic board recap done by...

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

Actually, yeah, there’s no way that ISN’T the issue! This only started immediately after I put my blueSCSI down there!

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

It does indeed get very very hot. I don’t know if that is the issue, however. All I can keep note of is that it starts working again if I take it out for a few after a software error like the benchmark. Wait, that might be the issue! I remember having some ribbon cable run up against the...

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

Issue resolved (again)! The issue was that, when I would try to run a benchmark test using MacBench, After Dark would interrupt it at times and, in doing so, mess with the test. If it does this while it is benchmarking the processor, my accelerator card freaks out and has to cool down to work. I...

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

Damnit, it appears I was wrong. Turned out it wasn’t the RAM that fixed the issue, but it was actually removing the accelerator card. I have no clue how to troubleshoot this thing. I assume I should tag @Bolle now.

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

Issue solved by reseating RAM. Thanks, all.

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

That is most likely the issue. I did forget to mention that I broke one of the RAM clips and had to do the Action Retro method of using physical metal clips (wrapped in bandage not to conduct any electricity) to hold it in. These have probably loosened by now. I will also check UE8.

    SE/30 Graphical Artifacts

Hello, I have purchased a Macintosh SE/30 around three months ago now and I have been on the quest of upgrading it to get it near its highest potential: I got the logic board recapped, I got Bolle’s Ethernet Riser and 50MHz 68030 accelerator, got a ROMinator, and I am now waiting for Bolle to...

Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

About this, would it be the main processor that the greyscale card uses, or would it be the FPU? I don’t exactly know all too much about hardware, but I have a feeling using numbers besides binary (like the Mac’s black and white) would have to use some sort of integer. I wouldn’t know, however.
