Found this in a basement storage..
Parallel printer port, drivers for dos & win95.
Found fairly inexpensive cables online, parallel ->usb that works with MacOs 9.x -> osx 10.5.
The BJC-80 & 85 should work with MacOS classic.
Whats your experience of connecting vintage...
I got my hands on a Sony miniDV tape viewer/tranfer station recently with a FW output.
I guess the PB Pism FireWire implementation is one of the earlier ones. It seems FW400 came in different flavours with transfer speeds ranging from 98 to 393 Mbit/s.
The main bottleneck is probably the HDD...
As an upcoming project I have been planning for an updated, 3d printed version of the Appledesign Powered speakers 2.
I have the enclosure specs, but it would be nice with a pdf with the drawings and measurements, if there ever was such a thing. Can only find the pdf for the taller, first version?
So, I need some kind of mini-din serial to USB cable/adapter. I've seen something similar used for plc programming, but I suspect that the pinout might be different.
Did Apple ever made such an adapter or were there only 3rd party ones?
Edit: Hmm. When I think about it, does the Stylewriter...
Yes, I've seen the guides and it seems to be a long and tiresome process.
One of my G4s are having overheating problems, and after resetting the pmu with no succes, I consider opening it to have a look.
Any experience?
Hi, I have a PB G4 1.67 that Im going to refurbish (new Charger + HD) and install Osx tiger + Mac OS 9. I plan to use it partly to transfer files via a usb floppy drive (wich I dont have but need to purchase) to some older 68k machines.
Any pitfalls or problems I need to be aware of?
Well, I dont know if this has been posted here before, the search didnt return anything.
Anyway, the topic of configuring a fpga to run 68k mac code has been discussed a couple of times.
I didnt know this, but there is a accelerator card solution for the amiga 500 & 600 that uses a...
So, this goes as follows:
Name a mac game or application that you used and would like to see an updated version of. A short description of what the software does is helpful, especially if its something unusual or obscure.
1.The Grouch init. Kermit pops up from the trash bin and sings a short...
Well, has anyone tried these industrial flash disks? I noticed both 40pin and 44pin versions.
Are they compatible with macs with IDE interface?
Edit: A url http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_on_module
I just couldn't resist! Found two Mac Plus, one old yellow and one platinum, with keyboards, mice, hds, extra floppydrives and a imagewriter for almost free!
To one of the Pluses there is a very old wireless mouse connected. It says "BMC Micro Industries, 1988" on the back of the infrared...
Hi, I have a PowerMac G3 DT wich has a G4 upgrade running at 333Mhz installed. By changing jumper setting, I can get the cpu speed up to around 600Mhz.
Cpu utility software logs 22C or 71F temp at 333Mhz, wich I doubt is correct, with the stock G3 heatsink without fans.
Is the PPC 7400 (1st...
No, its not my auction.
But I have stockpiled popcorn and dr Pepper to follow what could turn into "vintage-mac bidding-war-of-the-year".

Hi,a ll..
I read somewhere a long time ago, that the 68LC040 sits in a socket on the logic board, and might be possible to swap to a full 68RC040 with fpu and all.
Has anyone tried this, or is that claim just rubbish anyway?'
