Thanks for the links! I'll try all this stuff when I get home. I had actually messed with the voltage pot to get the picture to look more square thinking it would make the picture more sharp. Any known way to make the image less blurry besides obvious ways, or are their screens just like that?
I just recapped the analog board and while the mac was operating it had some weird screen issues, so I took it back apart, poked around and turned it on to this sound. Pretty sure this is bad, how fix?
It just sits asking for a disk until I put one in, then it chimes and resets. I haven't recapped the analog board, except the RIFAs, although it is possible the motherboard isn't getting enough power
It is the original drive, yes, I did a full teardown and lubrication of it and it worked while the machine was apart, but when I put the case back on the weirdness started, this was a couple weeks ago, I took a break from it for a bit
Got everything apparently fully working except the floppy drive seems to be having issues, or maybe it's something on the motherboard. It starts to spin, then stops and boot loops i think. For a while it was reading only certain disks, and would keep throwing errors, and now it just does this...
I have a Macintosh g3 powerpc that works beautifully! Only problem is every download of system 6 is broken. I'll update once i get it working. It says broken pipe, not sure what that means.
I got them with the mac but no they are not original, it's weird though cause the 6.08 has been working perfectly the last week. I guess I'll try to make another if I can
I replaced the RIFAs which fixed all my display issues, and managed to get the thing to work completely. I had booted it multiple times with system 6.08 and it worked every time. Since I fixed the screen, I put the computer back together and upon connecting peripherals and attempting to boot, it...
Ok cool thanks! I'll wait till the x and y caps get here and see if they make a difference, but if it keeps up ill see if I can get a new analog board, thankfully they aren't TOO expensive, just enough to be annoying.
Ok so I didn't pay much mind to this before but can someone tell me what's going on here with the flyback? Is this buildup normal? Looks like rust but I don't think it is.
Ok so I adjusted it, the diagonal lines and washed out look are pretty much gone now. Although there is an occasional flicker of lines on the screen, possibly due to noise since the rifas are gone. Also the brightness know on the front doesn't seem to so anything, anyone know why this might be?
