    New PowerBook G3! (Wallstreet)

Ahh yes, I forgot to mention! My model is the 14" ... really sharp looking display! Good to know about the hard drive. I suspected that would be an easy swap.

    New PowerBook G3! (Wallstreet)

I just acquired a 14" PowerBook G3 233 MHz (Wallstreet) as an alternative to my Beige G3 tower for making floppies for my older Macs. It's a beauty for sure ( picture! http://i.imgur.com/ArTwpmQ.jpg) ... it's in excellent shape. Just thought I would share it, but if there's any advice on how to...

No video after PRAM battery replaced (Beige G3 Tower)

That seems to have done it, thank you :) Yeah, I wasn't getting anywhere with the normal Command+Option+P+R method.

No video after PRAM battery replaced (Beige G3 Tower)

Yesterday I replaced the PRAM battery in my Power Macintosh G3, which I thought would be a quick procedure, but it's turned into a whole new issue. The machine chimes and I can hear the hard drive churning as it loads OS 9. After the hard drive stops, I can press the power button, at which point...

    LC III, pink video out

Some unfortunate news on the floppy drive... in the process of determining what was wrong with it, I figured the eject motor was stuck. The gears on it weren't moving at all. Anyway, after some fiddling around with that I tried testing the drive again and something on it burnt out. Not a lot of...

    LC III, pink video out

Nope, it doesn't do anything nor does it make any sound like it's trying to do something. The read/write head moves up, which I assume is part of the unmounting process, but that's it. You wouldn't even know it was trying to eject, haha. Also, I checked out the PSU. It's definitely Astec but I...

    LC III, pink video out

That's good to know, thanks! I know very little about the LCs, I've only just become interested in the model. I guess while I'm here talking about it I may as well add... the floppy drive works great, the auto inject works, but it doesn't like to software eject. I don't think it's a mechanism...

    LC III, pink video out

Well, I kind of "solved" the problem... I have two HP 2011x monitors hooked up to my main computer here, and I tried one of them with the LC III and it works just fine. No pink. The reason I didn't try this earlier, even though I should have, is that I assumed if my older LCD didn't work...

    LC III, pink video out

I've just played around with the connection as best I can, wiggled everything, still no luck. There's no leakage of capacitors or the PRAM battery, the board looks excellent.

    LC III, pink video out

I recently acquired an LC III that's in very good condition. Unfortunately, I don't own a vintage Apple CRT so I don't know if I'm experiencing a problem or if I just have a slightly incompatible monitor. As you can see here the video display is pinkish: http://i.imgur.com/QrO8YuD.jpg I'm using...

Repair Apple M0130 External? Disks not loading

Hmm, I'm surprised I didn't think of this but I do remember reading about lubricating 400k floppy drives: http://www.vintagemacworld.com/400kflop.html I don't have lubricant at the moment, but I suspect this might solve my problem. Feel free to either ignore, or confirm this for me if you've...

Repair Apple M0130 External? Disks not loading

I have an external Apple floppy drive, model M0130. It doesn't take any disks I try to feed into it. Any given disk will only go so far. Here's a picture of its internals: http://i.imgur.com/3lKgwaD.jpg As you can see from the top middle part of the photo, the disk goes in as far as it can. No...

Like brand new condition (Beige) Power Macintosh G3!

And that's definitely what I appreciate the older Macs for. The first time I ever used OS X was on a B&W back in 2006. Got a new MacBook in 2007, and this year I grabbed a Mac Mini. So I never particularly feel the need to experiment with OS X on older machines. For all its differences and...

Like brand new condition (Beige) Power Macintosh G3!

Mmhmm! That's what I've also been finding it very useful for. I've got a few compact Macs, so it's nice to be able to download software and be able to throw it on a floppy all on the same machine for use on those computers. I've been making do with a USB floppy drive until now, which worked...

Like brand new condition (Beige) Power Macintosh G3!

I picked up this beauty for only $20 back on Sunday: http://i.imgur.com/BdubkMc.jpg I got it from the original owner, even got the original receipt. It was purchased in 1998 for nearly $4000 (the tower, including monitor and other accessories). With it I also got the original software packages...

Apple II Plus and lots of other loot

It's golden, yep. No label on it either, haha... what a weird machine. Barely working, hardly any identification on it, but it was the first Apple II I'd ever seen in my life... so it has a place in my heart :D

Apple II Plus and lots of other loot

Interesting. So it's a II+ then, eh? It's in an original Apple II case. Was it common to put II+ boards in a II case?

Apple II Plus and lots of other loot

    They're definitely these ones: 341-0020-00 (F8) 341-0015-00 (F0) 341-0014-E8 (E8) 341-0013-00 (E0) 341-0012-00 (D8) 341-0011-D0 (D0) I've had to reorder 341-0020 and 341-0011 off eBay since the first has a broken pin and the second is faulty.

Apple II Plus and lots of other loot

Sure! I've made a small album here: http://imgur.com/a/Srbnm If you could somehow identify my Apple II that would be awesome... I see nothing on it that tells me anything about it except "© 1978" ...there's no serial number or any other information on the back, and that white area on the top...

Apple II Plus and lots of other loot

Ahh, I see... it reads 8131D, and the serial on the back is A2S2-254412 ...by the way, I have an Apple ][ and that same left corner in the little white area is blank. No number or any writing.
