DIY PS/2 - ADB Adapter Success!

Seems that youtube automatically uploads videos that aren't long or widescreen as 'shorts' I know the quality of my video is already not good but this makes it really hard to see what's going on here. Sorry. I just learned this is by-passable by typing in "watch?v=" in place of "shorts"...

DIY PS/2 - ADB Adapter Success!

I hacked together something abominable today and it worked! I followed this excellent guide and used an Arduino Uno instead. Some things weren't exactly clear for the layman like me, so I'd like to share the hurdles i encountered. - This code is for Arduino's based off the ATmega328p, I...

Trackpoint to ADB Adapter?! (Also, Apple II to ADB)

I found this really cool! Thanks for sharing, looks like some good resources for my current project. I am attempting to do the keyboard version of this; DIY PS2 > ADB. I already own a wombat, which works great! But I'd like to use my arduinos for something lol

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Yes indeed! I can only speculate but what comes to mind is internally the ribbon cables are sheilded by the case of the computer itself, like how your microwave has those small holes to see through; the waves of radiation are larger than the diametre of the holes, so they stay inside the nuker...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

OKAY, warn me thrice AND tell me the risks I guess this is not an experiment and just an exercise in Tom foolery to keep using it blindly! Let's see what's inside. So here we can confirm it is a pin to pin configuration, 0 resistance between pins when set to the 10ohm scale. I checked all the...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

I still am unaware of the risks involved, so in the spirit of ingorance and negligance I will continue to guinea pig this switch. I do have a cpl battery bombed boards and a hot air rework station... Call me stupid but I can't see this destroying my mobos or devices. Being as they do the 'exact...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Lol I appreaciate a little roast! Snowing at my house today; I don't know if I should just burn my cash for heat or turn on the furnace, will probably cost the same

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Lmao perfect for the ADD brain!!! I've always wanted to achieve legendary status with Mac SCSI and now I can!! I don't know whether to call you Mr. Fahrenheit or Mr. Warmth

Here's the same unit advertising SCSI use

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

interesting, is it an issue with resistance due to the length/ size of the wires? Sounds like its entirely mechanical and switches all 25 pins between A and B. I have not experienced any issues with the data switch. Is there any risks?

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

No clue, it was 5 dollars at the value village! No information on the box. Looks just like this unit here. Data Transfer Switch It does say "Wired straight-thru in a pin-to-pin configuration" on the website; I have not pulled it apart to verify mine works like this but I'm sure it's the same.

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Absolutely, I wouldn't dare flick the switch unless everything is powered down! The switch has three ports, A, B, and Main. A is hooked into the LCIII, B into the SE/30, Main into the zip drive. Wifi is working great on the SE/30, and if I want I can copy files to the BlueSCSI, then turn off...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Wild! Now there's a setup! Love seeing everything working together. Goes to show when you follow the right steps things fall into place lol Thanks again for your patience; I'll keep that one locked down as my Macintosh adventures are bound to continue. I picked up a DB25 data switch at a...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

You're a gem dude! I've read a lot but it was never explained to me in this way! So yes, I have the BlueSCSI at the end of the chain, after the zip drive. The beginning of the chain would be my internal SCSI2SD then which is also terminated. So that plugs both ends of the pipe. I am only...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

lol I may be dense here, but when we say before and after are we talking the SCSI ID? it makes sense to have the termination disabled on the zip, but I have BlueSCSI on ID's 0,1 and the zip is on ID 5. so the BlueSCSI is before the zip here? Also I have termination enabled on the internal drive...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Bingo bango bongo! We're in like flint! Everything is working harmoniously. I really appreaciate the input, I was able to hone in on this issue and get a better understanding of the SCSI bus in my Macintosh. However, in order to get this to work, I had to enable termination on the SCSI2SD...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Thanks for the reply! This does clear things up a bit. I am able to access my BlueSCSI drive when booting off a zip disk confirming it's operational, however the internal SCSI2SD is not recognized. I can only seem to get one, or the other. I have termination enabled on the internal drive, I...

    LCIII+ SCSI2SD + external BlueSCSI DB25 (termination issue?)

Hey all! Just got my External DB25 BlueSCSI V2 in the mail today. Super excited to get wifi working on my LCIII+ and wanted a simple way to copy files from Basilisk II emulator. I have internal SCSI2SD v5.1 setup as follows SCSI[0] 2GB boot HFS (MacOS 8.1/ MacOS 7.5.5) SCSI[1] 10GB HFS+...

LCIII+ OS 8.1 Finder Crash when transferring large files

Thank you Chopsticks!! I am even closer, I copied the 7.5.5 system folder over and can boot between the two using system picker. With extensions disabled in OS8.1 i can copy large files no problem! I tried using extensions manager to disable all my extensions / control panels then slowly turn...
