    Quadra 950 fan/connector specs

Right after posting this a fan was posted up on eBay so I grabbed it. For future reference, it's a Sanyo San Ace brushless model 109P1212H111 DC 12V 0.52A.

    Quadra 950 fan/connector specs

I'm restoring a Quadra 950, and the power supply fan that was included is a Raidmax PC fan powered by a 4 pin drive Molex connector rather than the power supply's dedicated fan connector. Would anyone happen to know the model/specs of the original OEM fan as well as the type of connector the fan...

    Quadra 700 Speaker.. specs?

I bought a Q700 in a IIci case a few months back and the solution they'd used was to bend the middle pin off to the side and the two outer pins closer together so they could jam the IIci speaker connector directly onto the board without modifying it. One of my restoration steps was to carefully...

That's a little disappointing as I'd hoped to see the trademark purple heatsink on one of these. It does however simplify eBay searching as the Sonnet version will likely simply be listed as a Daystar card as this one was. I don't believe the unicorn level DayStar PowerPro with RAM Expansion...

The thing I found interesting is that the Sonnet Presto PPC branding is simply a small paper sticker on the rear of the card; the board itself is OEM Daystar. This seems to indicate that Sonnet simply sold remaining stock and/or parts left over from Daystar rather than releasing their own...

The APMUC cards seem to be reasonably common as they show up regularly on eBay, though their final sale prices can vary drastically - currently hovering around $300-400. Less common is the more desirable 100MHz DayStar PowerPro 601, which was also offered by Sonnet after Daystar's demise as the...

I recently installed an oscillator socket to my Quadra 700 and swapped the 50MHz crystal oscillator for a 66.6666MHz oscillator to bump the CPU speed up to 33MHz. I also added a 820-0562-A Apple Power Mac Upgrade Card which I can now run at a more reasonable 66MHz.

    Repaired Battery Damaged Quadra 700

Sure, I used these from eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/122004729920 They're sold in lots of 10 so $1.30 each before shipping.

    Macintosh XL, anybody?

I had one, but I reversed the XL mods (ROMs and video transformer) returning it to a Lisa 2 as that was more interesting to me. Mine also had a SunRem shipping box when I got it.

Macintosh II Floppy Drive Not Powering Up.

I've had that issue before with dirty microswitches; some contact cleaner and then exercising the switches cleared it up. It's pretty easy to verify with a multimeter if they're working or not.

Help identifying a diode in an Apple CD300/Sony CDU561

I don't have any additional info, but I have a spare CD300 logic board (recapped with tantalums) if that's helpful. I rescued it out of a drive with a bad laser and don't need it for anything.

    My Macintosh II Restoration

I have a IIci one; it looks like it would need to be modified to fit the front of the Q700 though.

    My Macintosh II Restoration

Would you happen to know if that LED holder would fit a Quadra 700? I have the lightpipe for the power LED but not the HD activity light, and would love to do something similar for that.

    Repaired Battery Damaged Quadra 700

There was some interest in this so I thought I'd do a quick post on an eBay purchase and restore I recently completed. After following a couple eBay auctions that ended (or started) at very high levels I decided to piece together a Quadra 700 from parts. I started with the following two BIN...

    Apple IIgs Bodge Wires Normal?

I've only tried the built-in diagnostic so far. I have another IIgs board arriving in the next couple days, once I'm done verifying that one is good to go I'll circle back to the first and see if a diagnostics disk provides a clearer idea.

    Apple IIgs Bodge Wires Normal?

I went ahead and temporarily removed the mods and bridged the cut trace, but the system stops with "Fatal system error-> 0911". I also socketed the 4464 sound RAM and replaced with some known good chips, but I still get the System Bad: 0C000001 error and screech during diagnostic (with the...

    Apple IIgs Bodge Wires Normal?

I have a IIgs that's failing diagnostics with System Bad: 0C000001 error. In addition, it often starts up with strange screeches and displays "unclaimed sound interrupt" when this happens. My first thought is to socket and change the 4464 sound RAM, but I noticed a lot of bodges including cut...

    Lisa AC interference coupling?

That makes a lot of sense. Just as another data point, I recapped a 1.2A power supply a couple months ago and had a perfectly stable display with Rubycon 16YXJ2200M12.5X20 rated at 1.9A ripple current.
