Hmm, I only got a 20MB-ish HD with the above parameters. Also, it felt kind of slow (took like half an hour to initialize), anyone see any that should be changed in the above?
I'm actually accessing the SCSI2SD right now with the Apple HD SC Setup v7. 3.5 (initializing right now), so happy days, real progress being made here now!
:)
I wonder if it was the space in the version number or something?
Thanks for the help, guys! ;)
SCSI Probe (thanks a lot LaPorta!) found the card which I presume is good news! :-) I will double-check the settings once again. There are plenty of other options that might or might not be checked/enabled as well.
Yes, I normally have a SCSI drive attached (at this moment a Quantum 500MB) and that works so at least the internal bus is fine (haven't tried the external port as I don't have any external SCSI device).
I used the utility for Windows to access the card via the Micro USB interface on the card. I've done the settings and saved them to the card so that works (if I read them I get the same back).
The HD setup doesn't see a SCSI device at all, is that normal? I'm thinking that if it was a size...
I have a SCSI2SD v5.1 card that I recently bought, I've flashed it with the latest firmware available and I'm able to set configuration but when I hook it up to my SE/30 (with working SCSI bus) it's just flash the red LED every 5-10 seconds or so and I can't see the device from the OS HD setup...
If you have a working copy of the 5.6.1 drivers I'm very interested.
I've managed to test the 5.2.9 drivers and the installer says that it cannot find the card. I have 6.0.8 OS installed right now. I haven't been able to run any other tool(s) which can scan the bus for the card.
The Mac Con...
I don't know if I wrote that but essentially what I meant was that even though I removed the RAM modules the screen was the same upon startup (i.e not a RAM issue but something else on the mainboard (turned out to be missing signals from the UE8 chip due to capacitor leakage).
Right now I think I have 6.0.8 installed (but I aim higher when I've got a library of software available and TCP/IP running (can't get my Asanté MacCon+ TK/TP going)).
I'm struggling with getting software on my SE/30. I've installed StuffIt!, WinImage and MacDrive on my PC. I have no problems writing a .image file with WinImage and installing from that (OS diskettes for example) but extracting .hqx, .sea, .bin etc. is not working and I can't copy them in such...
As I've repaired the SE/30 I've started looking at my ASANTE MacCon+ TK/TP (Rev B) card. I can't get this going. As I'm no expert on MacOS etc. I'm struggling both with get the drivers on a diskette but also installing.
I found an diskette image (High Density) which is version 5.1.2 but it...
LOL! Picture has been to large all the time but the error message hasn't been very helpful.
Anyhow, here is the intitial screen. Like I've mentioned before it doesn't matter if the RAM and the ROMs are in, the stripes was there all the time until the problem was fixed/repaired (2nd picture)...
It was the UE8 chip mainly and missing signals going to the VideoRAM. After finding schematics and chip information I was able to trace which signals were missing and problem (graphics issue) is now 100% resolved. I just wish I could attach pictures of before and after but there have been...
OK! I've made some progress now.
At least 2 signals did not have contact from the UE8 chip with the next solder joints (probably from a former defective capacitor), this has been fixed now and now I only (still) have 1 line left that doesn't display but at least I can see quite OK now. For now...
OK!
I should mention that the graphics issue is there without memory installed or ROM board (or whatever it is sitting next to the memory), so it's an issue with the board itself or some chip I would assume.
