Hello, you can view these pictures through the archive website:
http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20080719182400/http://macdownunder.no-ip.info/Platinum512ke/
Maybe others have noticed this,
but it seems on a 512ke, 128k ROMs system that under the Apple menu - "About the Finder"
it puts a period after the 512k.
whereas on an original 512k system with 64kb ROMs it is simply 512k
has anyone else noticed this before?
Thanks 128, was interested if it was an early mouse thing, but thanks
It is fun looking at the early photos from Apple, the slight changes they made to the systems, this photo is from the owners manual, fun to see that the badges are reversed around the wrong back compared to the production...
Have not been able to find any info on this online and yes I have searched :)
It is not a Lisa mouse nor the typical plug I have seen on an M0100 mouse
Yeah.....its ok, I found out in the last link you posted it is for the 128k
I wasn't sure if it was for the 128k, 512k, plus etc...
I didn't realise that there was a separate box with MacPaint, MacWrite, etc...as I thought from your first post there was just the accessories box included,
its...
huh?
you lost me there?
it says "Macintosh" on the tape.
but thanks,
that second link cleared everything up for me, thanks. That's what I was getting at, from your first post I thought that's all that came with the 128k, what was in the accessory box, now I see from that second link that...
ok nevermind, I've answered my own question from that link, thanks
http://www.vintagemacworld.com/m0001intro/intro3.jpg
Can I ask then please, what is this tape for...
ok thanks, that helps a bit
So there should only be one audio tape?
What disks should be in there?
I can see 4 in this photo:
Guided Tour, MacPaint, MacWrite and a system disk?
There also exists a disk that has both MacPaint, MacWrite on it
As I've seen MacPaint guided tour tapes as...
Ok I have searched, but cannot find this.......
Can anyone tell me please what is the complete list of items that was included with an original 1984 Macintosh?
* M0001 system unit
* M0100 mouse
* M0110 keyboard
What accessories, disks, books were also included?
Guided tour cassette and...
Someone or a small business could probably do a bit of business selling these boards refurbished with new parts.
To people who can't solder to save themselves, or their macs!!
Maybe not now but in a few years when the original compact macs 128k, 512k become more rare in working condition...
Mac128, thank you as always for your wealth of knowledge, yes to clarify when I said there I meant that it must have, or you would think so have existed, even just within Apple at some point.
Sure, probably lost now forever.
Or we can live in hope someone turns up some cool beta version with...
I was looking at a guided tour disk today and noticed that it had Finder 1.1h
I have gone back and re-read this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14696
As I had to double check, as these pages refer to finder 1.1g
presumably there would be 1.1a....1.1c etc out there
Has anyone else noticed...
Thanks guys, maybe you can help with these two
Both Finder 1.0 but dated differently
We talked about in aother thread .85 System being the oldest known version, so this 83 dated Finder 1.0 would also be the oldest known copy?
thanks for your help with all my questions.
Any significance to these Finder versions?
I know with ResEdit you can edit things to say whatever you want, found these Finder screens on old disk images, was curious if there was any significance to the X or the *
guys I have a few questions I been searching for the answers to these can anyone help?
Looking at heaps of different pictures online, ebay of 128k's for sale, some seem to have a grey surround to the Apple logo on the front of the case, while others match the overall colour of the computer, is...
although the seller doesn't give the serial number this one looks pretty nice as well

Regardless of what this may or may not sell for the good news for the average joe collector is that over the coming years your old Apple gear is only going to incase in value.
Keep it running, enjoy it, buy 1 or 2 of xyz example for parts when they pop up, and enjoy playing the old games etc.
Well I'm pretty sure the keyboard refuses to work, like when it boots to the Finder "macintosh hd" on the desktop is selected, and pressing return etc does nothing, tab, etc..
is that fuse soldered down?
never seen a fuse like that before
I will have to dig it out again over the weekend and...
I haven't been able to find anything here by searching
does anyone know anything about the Xcalibur board for the 128k?
what were the specs, ram options? etc?
thanks
wish I did have another keyboard and mouse
well just tried it again and it would startup with the keyboard and mouse connected
but obviously not do anything
but I had done it like 10 times before and it wouldn't
keyboard and mouse were both working about 3 weeks ago okay on this computer...
