After having gotten in touch with AMP and being told the original mate was discontinued, I set about designing a small PCB that negotiates an USB-C power supply to 15V, and feeds that straight into the board. It has some quirks and I should redesign it. I plan on maybe selling these in premade, easy-to-use versions if I manage to refine the design to a point I'm happy with. Else I'll just throw them on my github.
I suspect you could bodge an off the shelf one in - these USB-C boards exist everywhere online. But yeah. My first 520c was run off heatshrinked pins like everyone else does it, but that's kinda nasty, and after the AMP support engineer told me he had to go dig that part number because the last catalog having it was from 1999, I figured I'd better come up with something better.
