IIRC, they do work, but it's difficult to insert disks, because the cases on machines that came with auto-inject drives lack the cutout around the disk slot that allows you to push the disk in far enough to load into a manual-inject drive.

The slots are a slightly different height, but you can shim them up a little at the front. You need to use something to poke them in, like a second disk.

my mac II had a manual inject floppy disk in the 2nd slot when I got it. suboptimal to say the least.

Doesn't matter so much if you don't ever put the lid on the case :p

🤨 the II/f/x slots are in the lid though? i assume you mean iisi or lc or something?

thanks for the thoughts on that, i guess the iisi will stick with a really noisy eject motor... lol
