If you like browsing more camera stuff, there is Camera Kitamura just behind the station in Akihabara, I got some nice Nikon lenses there. But I love just browsing around the electronic shops, I wish they still existed in my country!

Akihabara? Go also to the old radio shops, they are very neat and some have also old Mac stuff. The Gyukatzu place in your map is also very good it you like tonkarzu ;) If you have time, try also to get in a Hard off out of the city (like in Yokohama, which is a great day trip by itself), they...

PowerBook 100/CM4 - Convert Analog Brightness/Contrast wheels to Digital Inputs?

I think you could just read the two pots with two ADC channels, it will read a min and max value and then you can convert that in whatever you need. What is PowerBook 100/CM4? Is it replacing the logic board with a RpI?

    Netatalk 4.0 - Future-proofing Apple File Sharing

I used macipgw + LocalTalk + Netatalk (+ AirTalk to have IP over DDP over IP for full redundancy) and in my experience it works very well. FTP is super tricky since in active mode you need to open a port to the world and forward it on all routers: your main router and the computer with macipgw...

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

I'm here! More or less! This summer with great help from @dougg3 I made an attempt at submitting the module to the Linux kernel, and it was rejected with some comments. Nothing to impossible to fix, but unfortunately I got a nasty case of the virus, my window of opportunity was lost, real life...

What to put on a Raspberry Pi 3 to act as an intermediary for classic Mac OS to print to a modern Laser printer

I use my PI 1 with the TashTalk hat to interface my localtalk macs to my Brother printer. You basically setup the printer in Linux on the PI using CUPS then Netatalk 2.4 with cups enabled will pick it up automatically and show it over appletalk. On my macs I use the generic PPD and it works very...

LocalTalk PC Card APDA manual scanned

The cops driver was just removed this year! I'm trying to get a trashtalk driver to interface netatalk to localtalk via USB but time has been a tyrant. I would be curious to try it with the original cops driver (but I imagine you need Isa slots?), tashtalk works very well.

Powerbook 100 with blue screen of death pls help

I'm not sure what is the default state without the CPU board, IIRC the screen should be fully white? I can test it on my machine if I have a moment. Also make sure the caps on the display are all making good connection!

Powerbook 100 with blue screen of death pls help

A couple notes: * No sound or boot chime could mean C6 is not properly connected * I personally would be wary of using caps soldered "on air" like that with long non insulated leads, it is easy for something to touch and make the situation worse * Check the three inductors in the lower corned of...

    Netatalk 2.4.0 available

Ahh Perl, so many memories, I will give this a try, thanks!

    Netatalk 2.4.0 available

I have a semi-unrelated question... Is there a way to mount AFP shares on Linux? Via appletalk and not IP, IIRC I did this many moons ago, it was still during the netatalk 1.x times.

Desk Accessories running in ...Mac OS X?

The mpw runner Is fascinating, it even implements some basic toolbox stuff! What mpw commands are out there that would be usable with this?
