Dead SCSI bus anomaly on old Mac's

Ok, so, I'd like to bring this subject back up again. So far now, my Macintosh Plus, SE, Macintosh II, and now my Macintosh IIx are affected. What's happening is that one day these macs just start refusing to boot from an external SCSI HD or CD-ROM. Re-capping the logicboard does not help with...

Powerbook 180C Wont boot from SCSI

Hello again. My 3rd problem of the week so far lol. Now my Powerbook 180c will not boot from any external SCSI device. Whenever I hook a SCSI cable up to it(I have 3 of them), it wants to boot instantly into SCSI disk mode. Is there a way around this so I can reload the OS?  I don't remember...

Macintosh SE/30 clock not working / time not advancing.

The board was already re-capped due to not having sound(sound works now). Thanks for the tip on the pin for the RTC. I'll have to see about that.

    Scsi hard drive problems

I have been having odd scsi behavior on all of my older compact macs from the late 80's. My Macintosh Plus's refuse to boot from any external SCSI hard drives, even one that I had loaded specially for my Mac Plus and was working many years ago before it was put in storage. I can put the HD on my...

Macintosh SE/30 clock not working / time not advancing.

Didn't find any bad traces from UK4 or Y1. I need find a missing trace from C12 - side, but I don't know what it goes to.

Macintosh SE/30 clock not working / time not advancing.

Yes I have reset the PRAM as well. The clock still does not tick forward. I'm guessing bad RTC chip? Network time is nice and all, but were talking about a standalone SE/30. No internet access. Thanks.

Macintosh SE/30 clock not working / time not advancing.

I've seen a few hits on google with different machines where the RTC doesnt work anymore, but nothing about the SE/30. My SE/30 boots up and runs, but the time will not advance on the clock. I've replaced the PRAM battery, what could it be? Thanks

Color Classic not powering on. Makes a chirping noise

Lol, sorry guys, my other phones mic was trashed. This phones mic works better, but it's video quality is very poor. This is the chirping sound.  Also, yes I have re-capped the logicboard and analog board, but also have tried another  logicboard and it does the exact same thing. One of the only...

Color Classic not powering on. Makes a chirping noise

I'll try and record the noise again tomorrow. Yes it was working many years ago before I put it in storage.

Color Classic not powering on. Makes a chirping noise

Hey there. I've got a Color Classic that no longer wants to turn on. When the switch is flicked, you can here it it energize or whatever you want to call it, then when you press the on button on the keyboard, it tries to turn on, then makes a chirping noise and shuts off. I've re-capped most of...

    Powerbook 520/540c Power Adapter repair/re-cap

Ran into an issue where my power adapter for my Powerbook 540c was outputting 16v on one pin, but only 2.xv on the other pin so my 540c would no longer start up. Took the PA apart(it's epoxied together) and discovered 6 capacitors. 2x 330uf - 25v, 2x 100uf 200v, and 2x 100uf 25v. The part...

    Color Classic G1 pin locations?

Got a Color Classic logic board here that has a bad thru hole connection. Looks like someone did a nasty job at trying to clock chip it (can't be done this easily on a CC) and reamed one of the holes out. Does anyone know where the 4 pins at G1 go to? Thanks!

    Q605/LC475 capacitor connections

I did. Instead of messing around with trying to find where the connections went, I scrapped off the enamel covering the traces going to the pads and soldered the new SMD caps to the traces with a wire. The board works now, but this sadly did not fix my SCSI issue.
