    PowerBook G4 neoprene sleeve 15"

All, Decided to do a bit of a cleanup/junking in the loft this weekend as I was sure I would have some old Tucano Second Skins in the loft. Sure enough I found one for a MacBook Pro/Retina and it fits like a glove. Thanks CC_333 for the suggestion :)

    PowerBook G3 PDQ won't start

Well disconnecting the PRAM didn't work. Quite an easy machine to work on though.

Is there a way to disconnect the PRAM battery without a complete disassembly?

    PowerBook G3 PDQ won't start

Hi All, Took a punt on a PowerBook G3 PDQ with no power adapter for spare or repair. When I plug it in the light turns green and the fan spins up for a couple of seconds and the everything goes off. It won't switch on. Tried the reset (FN-Ctrl-Shift & Power) that didn't do anything. Any...

    PowerBook G4 neoprene sleeve 15"

Hi, Back in the day I used to get Tucano Second Skin sleeves for all of my laptops but obviously as this is so old they do not make them anymore. Does anyone have any modern day recommendations for neoprene sleeves that will fit a PowerBook G4 15"? Thanks.

PowerBook Duo 210 Best way to get software/data onto it

Thanks. I was thinking it might be my version of Toast on a Apple Silicon iMac. Just bought a PowerBook G4 12" so I'll put Toast 8 on it and try that. At least with this Mac I can download from the internet or if need be use the USB 1.1 port. Slow but it will get there.

Disk health check on 7.5.3 and 10.4

Hi all, Just about to start rebuilding my LC630CD and PowerBook G4 12" and would like to check the status and heath of the hard drives. Is there any software that can check the disk health check on 7.5.3 and 10.4 life for bad sectors etc. I know it will probably be two different applications...

    Powerbook G4 12" 867Mhz. OS sweet spot

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning towards Tiger as Leopard has a few performance issues as I recall. The PowerBook has 640mb RAM so looks like it was upgraded to the max. I could look into the 1Gb module as that is known to work. Went looking in my filing cabinet and found a load of old...

    Powerbook G4 12" 867Mhz. OS sweet spot

Hi all, Just purchased on eBay a Powerbook G4 12" 867Mhz. This is the 3rd classic Mac I've bought in the last 2 weeks. This was the 1st Mac I ever bought albeit the 2004 model which was a bit faster. Now my question is what is the OSX sweet spot for this machine? I know it came with 10.2.3 and...

PowerBook Duo 210 Best way to get software/data onto it

ISO 9660 is the winner. This managed to keep its application association but still file names show as 8.3 DOS naming. On other machines this shows up with normal file names. Going to do a full install of System 7.5.5 and see if that fixes things. Was always my plan to do a reinstall as this has...

PowerBook Duo 210 Best way to get software/data onto it

Not sorted. All then file formats are 8.3 names :( good old DOS names. Burned a few CD all wasted. I have the following options in toast 17: Mac Only Mac & PC DVD-Rom (UDF) - Gives DOS naming so does not work ISO 9660 Do any of the above work without screwing up the file names on the LC630...

PowerBook Duo 210 Best way to get software/data onto it

Won on eBay over the weekend an LC630CD for £45 :) . First thing I did was remove the Rayovac 4.5 battery. No leakages and no corrosion. Now, I need to get some software onto this thing. Burned a CDRW disk but would not read. Worth a try. Burned a CD-R and the 630 says it needs initialising...
