I think the installation issue had to do with my HD. After wiping the SD card and flashing the SCSI2SDv6 with the newest firmware I was able to successfully install OS 7.5.3!
Unfortunately then I had a different problem -- the system wouldn't boot up and instead hung at "Welcome to Macintosh"...
If I hit "sorry", it kicks me back to the "Install System Software" screen where I can restart the install.
I didn't think hiding files was possible on this OS but I thought I'd ask!
I've tried with 3 different sets of floppy images for System 7.5.3 (including those which came with my BMOW...
I'm not given the option to continue. Or do you mean click "Install" again and start over?
Is it possible that the file is hidden somehow? I apologize if that is a dumb question.
Hi everyone,
I've been trying to do a clean install of System 7.5.3 on my SE/30 but have an issue near the end of installation which throws the following error:
Is deleting the file and continuing installation really the right thing to do here?
This would be going onto a 2GB virtual SCSI...
Is it possible to save the time, volume, etc. settings without a PRAM battery on an SE/30?
Perhaps by setting the time via NTP? If that is possible, is there a way to restore the other settings without requiring the battery?
It would be really nice to never have to worry about a "ticking...
More info:
Full brightness is 7 Ohm, full dim is 1M Ohm.
I think I found a local seller willing to part with an untested analog board for cheap which I'll likely pull the part from but I'd like to leave this thread up just in case anyone comes up with a better answer to this problem!
I recently had an SE/30 analog board shipped to me and unfortunately the brightness knob somehow got bent in shipping resulting in one of the terminals of the potentiometer breaking clear off.
I tried my best to repair this potentiometer but I think its beyond help as there does not seem to be...
I've got a Mac SE/30 logic board that needs recapping and since I'm clumsy with surface mount components, I've been on the lookout to hire someone else to do it for me. I am located in Massachusetts, USA.
I reached out to maccaps.com but got no response.
Does anyone know of a professional for...
That is quite an ambitious project!
I'll definitely follow it as it progresses.
As far as a display card, I guess I'll just keep an eye on eBay and the Trading Post board then until I see something pop up!
I've recently begun coding for the SE/30 and was wondering if any of this machine's color display cards have been cloned.
They seem to be quite hard to come by and a cloned card would be the solution to my problems!
