@NJRoadfan . Any chance of a brief cookbook (or even a list) for setting TashTalk/TashRouter + netatalk up in the manner you describe?
I was thinking about how I might bridge this network gap this morning. I wish I could say I could contribute code, but that’s not in my wheelhouse. I’d gladly contribute $ to the cause, help test and troubleshoot.Needless to say, this will be a massive undertaking. I am looking for collaborators to make this happen. If you or someone you know has a knack for C (or is willing to learn) I can offer a job that is unpaid but comes with the glory of keeping the dream of Apple file sharing alive for the next generation.![]()
Thank you for the sentiment, I will certainly let you know if/when the project opens up for donations.I was thinking about how I might bridge this network gap this morning. thanks for testing!Testing 4.5.0 on a brand-new Pi5 with no problems so far... I always forget to do the sudo afppasswd -c; sudo afppasswd -a [username] dance, but that's on me...
Good advice re Docker. It would be awesome if @NJRoadfan can test 4.5.0 on a Pi before I start poking around as I will probably make a lot of mistakes and knowing that it "should work" would be a bonus.you can ask @NJRoadfan if his A2SERVER fork is in good enough shape to test
any RPi should run netatalk 4.5.0 well, you just have to compile it yourself
unless you want to learn how to work with Docker containers, I wouldn't necessarily recommend that you go down that path – it is a good option for people who are already using Docker
