SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

I had difficultly removing the cable strain relief grip. It ended up being easier to just bend back the wings of the metal frame. I reversed the process to reinstall it after recapping. Let me know if there is a better way.

I use a small parallel clamping wrench on the underside of the strain relief to remove it from the PSU. With a tight enough compression of the strain relief, it can be wiggled upward and out of the case.

Heyco pliers are the appropriate tool for those who might have to do this more than once. I picked up a pair on eBay for ~ $50 USD.

@s_pupp Thank you. I'll have to try that.

@shirsch I had no idea these existed. They are some knock-offs on eBay that aren't very expensive at all.

I didn’t know about the strain relief pliers, either. If I hadn’t finished with my Seasonic conversions (I prefer the Astek cases for this), I’d get a set of those. The parallel clamping wrench works, but I’m sure the strain relief pliers fit better into the cramped space, and do a better job overall.
