Fixing a Miniscribe 8425s ?

Just curious if these are considered repairable? Mine does an SOS LED pattern (three quick - three long ) when it starts and then goes to a repeating pattern of three quick blinking lights. Makes no sound as far as I can tell. Motor certainly is not doing anything. Thanks for any thoughts.

This should help. But it sounds like the disk can't spin. There is a flywheel under the PCB, perhap remove the pcb and manually free the flywheel if it is stiff.

Your error is probably error 7.

Don't move the arm on the back of the stepper motor out of position or the drive won't work. I mean the arm moving in this video :

oh, you mean the motor arm where it has big giant capital letters telling you not to move it?

So are you saying it will never, ever work if that gets moved at all? Because, of course…I mean... I would never do a thing like that... I mean who could possibly be so dumb as to move that manually? uh...

You can get it working again, but it will take some time and if you already have another issue, you now have compound issues. How far did you rotate it?
