Anyone ever tried sticking in another pin header into the unpopulated pads on an LC II board? Just curious to know if the second floppy port is electrically connected at all.
No reason it won't work, have a LC with a IIe card on it, was able to use both floppy drives and the hard drive without any issue, the second pin header was probably removed from the LC II because the market for a floppy drive only machine outside the education scope was not a priority.
it would be cool to have an LC or LC II with dual floppy drives and a SCSI to SD internally mounted. I'd do it, but I don't bother with floppies, just hard drive and network
Oh it is fully functional, the intent of the LC was to be low cost, and that meant possibly selling the system without a hard drive, yah, someone actually thought that was a good idea. The 65Scribe guy does a very good review of this model. https://youtu.be/dCqJ6iPHus0
