Portable backlit issue

[SIZE=17pt]I bought a portable backlit at last year[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt],[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt] it was boot with some issue[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt],[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt] cannot read and write with any known good floppy disc and drive [/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]([/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]I[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]’[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]ve another known good portable so I can swap them to check[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt])[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]. Every time it[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]’[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]s warning to Initialize disk but it can[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]’[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]t initialize an IBM or Mac formated 3.5" 800k or 1.44 disk and the pointer changes to a wristwatch icon and back to the pointer every few seconds preventing use of the drop down menu's. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=17pt]Recently[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt],[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt] I[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]’[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt]ve time to recap it[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt],[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt] after recapped it shows a floppy disk icon with a question Mark[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt],[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt] and than I insert the system disk to boot but it ejects. After that I connect a scsi2sd to boot[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt],[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt] unfortunately it cannot boot anymore and having many different issues......[/SIZE]

How is your battery? I was having some similar issues with my Portable... You NEED, absolutely NEED a GOOD BATTERY. I think it needs to measure 6 volts. If yours measures much less, thats probably your issue. Do not run it off the charger alone either. 

Start with the battery and then we will know where to go from there.

The battery can boot my other portable normally, as I said before every parts can use normally on my other portable.

This sounds like something TechKnight should look at. He helped me a ton.

The fact that your battery boots another portable does not mean a thing. it really doesnt. The circuitry in these machines were poorly designed and had super critical tolerances. What boots one machine may not boot another. Check the voltage on your battery. Period. Also make sure the battery cover is installed. it trips an interlock that if not present the battery is actually NOT in the circuit. 

Also, did you wash the board? Wash it again. Then again, and again. Then bake it, and wash it again. you need to drive out all the cap goo from the inner layers of the PCB. 

Then try again.
