Ok, here's what happened. I tried to boot the IIfx off a System 7 floppy last weekend, but it either got no video with the Toby card (bad PRAM battery/batteries, most likely) or got the Radius ROM screen with the Radius Thunder IV card. Blast!

I'm going to try one more Nubus vid card in it and see if I can get it booted...

If nothing else, I'm positive that at least four of the RAM chips are 16MB simply because of their enormous size. The other four chips could be 16 meggers, but they could also be one meggers or anything in-between, maybe if someone here is more familiar with the 64-pin simm chipsets they can steer me in the right direction...

Hey Cine, do you have any external SCSI CD-ROM drives (about 2x-8x speeds) on sale? If you do, please add one to my shopping list.

Sorta...I have several bare CD-ROM drives, a couple 2x, one 4x, maybe an 8x, and one 32x. I also have one Apple external CD-ROM case that's in about twelve different pieces. I'm not even sure I have all the parts to put it back together, but I'll work on it...

Oh and JT, forgot to yank and spank the IIfx RAM! I'll have to do it tonight...

and..... the winner is......?

...we're all waiting with baited-- er, bated, breath!

/Mr Lynn

PS If you want to just ship 'em to me, I can test in MY IIfx. If they work, I'll pay-- how much? Say, US$20 for a group of four 16MBs, $15 for a group of four 8MBs, $10 for a group of four 4MBs, and nothing if they're 1MBs (got plenty of those already). Plus your postage. (E-mail me at mrlynn@mac.com and I'll send you my address.)

PPS I just gave no. 2 son back the old Apple 14" monitor (which he uses with his Umax C-500), so I'll have to find another monitor the IIfx can run. Anyone in the Boston-Worcester area got one they don't want (not worth shipping)?

Curator of: SE (6.0.4), SE w. 020 accelerator (6.0.8), SE w. no HD, IIfx (7.1), IIci (bad HD); plus various PPCs in family (blue G3/350 is main Mac these days).Go to Top of Page

Just to keep it fresh, here's what's still available, and I have also added some NEW stuff:

Macs/Non-Mac/Cases =

PowerMac 7100/80av: 32MB of RAM, 2GB hard drive, OEM (4x) CD-ROM, with AV card but no extra VRAM on it. Will have clean install of OS 8.1 or 9.0.4.

PowerMac 7100/80: 32MB of RAM, 1.2GB hard drive, OEM (4x) CD-ROM, HPV video card. Will have clean install of OS 8.1 or 9.0.4.

IBM 300GL: Pentium 1 MMX 200Mhz, 32MB of RAM, 2MB onboard VRAM, no hard drive, no CD-ROM, 1.44MB floppy drive, 10/100 PCI ethernet card, SoundBlaster AEW64 ISA sound card.

Quadra 660av: Unknown RAM, no hard drive, no CD-ROM, no RAM/VRAM, either mobo or PSU (or both) are dead as it won't boot, full '040 chip has been replaced by an LC040.

IIfx: Working mobo but with no RAM, no internal SCSI filter, one 1.44MB floppy drive. Top half of the case is spray-painted black (and badly at that), bottom half is original and in decent condition.

Drives =

5.25" x full height 8.6GB hard drive (works, but cannot copy large files)
3.5" x third height 230MB hard drive
3.5" x half height 80MB hard drive
Two 2x caddy-loaded CD-ROMs

Peripherals 'n Parts =

4-port serial switchbox
AS-IS ADB Wacom graphics tablet

Manuals =

Apple Personal LaserWriter manual (fair condition)
IIsi manual (good condition)
Microsoft Word Reference manual (very big! good condition)

PowerBook/Duo Stuff =

Partial Duo 280c: Missing PRAM battery, LCD screen/top case and RAM.

Broken Duo 270c color LCD screen with microphone, attached to the metal case stiffener (LCD works, but is badly damaged. A series of cracks run from the lower right hand corner outward).
Complete bottom plastic case from a Duo 280c
14.4k internal Duo modem
Broken Duo 2xx series trackball (track ball will only go left and right, and not up and down).
Dead Duo 280c motherboard (completely fried and one of the prongs on the battery terminal is also broken).

Cards =

RasterOps 24MX 12" Nubus video card (look here for details)

SuperMac DigitalFilm double-12" Nubus card, missing breakout box

ATTO Silicon Express II 10MB/sec max 50-pin Nubus SCSI card (cannot get it to work, may be dead or may need a driver I can't find)

Apple Mac II 12" Nubus video card (Toby)

Apple AAUI Ethernet Nubus card

3x Apple High Performance PDS Video Cards (for 7100, etc., empty slots)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S. - I also have tons of upower cables, ADB cables, apple microphones and PhoNet connectors (among other things). If there's an odd cable you're looking for, ask me!

I have two , interna, 14.4k Duo modems, and i can almost guaruntee that they're both dead. You can have one or both for the cost of shipping alone (no more than $2 in the US).

As for the Nubus cards, the RatserOps is $7, $5 for the DigitalFilm, $2 for the ATTO II and $1 for the Toby.

It's kinda a drive for me, but I could make it on a weekend! Cash is great right now, as I'm saving up for a G4...but if you have something really nifty I wouldn't pass it up.

methinks you misunderstood, or I mistyped
I will pay cash for items, and if you are interested, you could have some of the parts that I need to get out of my way. anyway, if you could make it on a saturday, that'd be great, I am where I will be from 10AM to 6PM, and if you have a dog, I'll throw in a dog bone! (The address is a pet shop
anyway, eagerly awaiting response

Ahhh, I get it! Yeah sure, I'd love to come down. I have a couple empty ISA slots on my two "project" PC's that I wouldn;t mind fiddling with before I sell them (if I sell them...). Email me your address (if you haven't already) and I'll let you know when i can come by!

Clinton might be interested in that breakout box, since I sold the DigitalFilm card to him ages ago.

I think all that's left that you wanted is the MiniDock and the USB-to-PS/2 adapter. Total with shipping for those is going to be $18. You still don't have a PayPal account, do you? Oh well, an MO will have to do!
