The only bull here is that you still owe me the $20 stake I put up for you so that you could continue to be part of the auction when you were suddenly without funds. MONTHS ago, you said you'd send the keyboard with that $20 when the money came in from the sale of the PB you'd parlayed "your" stake in the auction into. You were supposed to ship the rest of my stuff COD. So far, the only thing I've received from you would be insulting crap like this that's posted in public. FEH!

Let me put it this way. You can send money to ship and the stuff, COD will not work the post office has told me, or I can sell that keyboard and send you the money you used for the auction. Your Choice.

So, you're sick of holding onto my things, while all this time you have never had the money to pay me back or to ship it as you agreed to do. Now you're saying you have no intention whatsoever of making good on that $20 loan and that feel justified in threatening me with selling the keyboard if i don't send you additional money on a deadline in a public posting without ever emailing me directly

Grow up and make good on your commitments.

May I ask why timaclover has not been banned entirely from these forums? His behavior has obviously been unethical and in bad faith.

If I was mean I would have ditched all of you and sold the keyboard and everything else and made a load of money for myself, I didn't and won't. I just want this stuff out. I know if someone wanted to send me a keyboard worth well over $1000 in value to me even though they owed me $20 I would, think of the value in $$ or collection. It would cost a mear $8.00 to ship, I think that has more value than everything in my apartment. I don't want to screw anyone over but I really need this stuff out before it gets lost or broken. Just let me know...

edit: Considering the way events have transpired, about the only reason I can come up with for

1) your off the wall value estimates and
2) your public postings about them over the past few months

is that it's long gone, soon to be gone (whatever) and that there will be a public announcement that your apartment has been burglarized and everything of value dissappeared or some such.

It's cute that you're now quoting $8 shipping when you were holding me up for an additional $20 for shipping it (fairly recently) when you finally responded to my repeated emails, IIRC.

It is also interesting to note that your ultimatum offers to refund my original investment, I guess you feel entitled to any profits from the sale of my take as well as the profit from all the other stuff you sold based upon money you still owe me.

I originally stated that maintaining solidarity and comradeship here in the MLA was the most important possible outcome from theBig@$$BoxLotConsortium's efforts. Unfortunately, it appears that was not to be the case.

You can still show good faith, live up to your commitments, mend the hurt you've done to your reputation and express regret for your unfortunate behavior. You've shown some maturity, backbone, and the will to behave correctly in the past, I guess I'm still hoping you'll do a repeat performance. It takes a lot for me to write somebody off, but when I do it's final, it's your call, Ti.

First off, I want to apologize to TiMac for not sending the money earlier. My part from the lot cost quite a bit to ship ($100) and recent events in my life held me back from paying this. If you had the PayPal transfer method still available, you would have had the money months ago.

I now have a check for $100 made out to TiMac sitting in my hands, ready to get dropped in the mail after work tonight, which should mean that you will recieve the money either Monday or Tuesday.

tmtomh, lay off on TiMac... he has been screwed over a bunch of times this last year, and he has become sort of bitter to the people here. Back when he was a regular visiter here, he was a good person to talk to and a valueable member of the community. But ever since the BigA$$BoxLotConsortium's, things haven't been the same.

I'd agree about keeping it in the BoxLot group, but Ti is the one who decided to do his posting publicly and opened himself up to criticism from outside the group.

I hope you're not insinuating that Ti is the one who was somehow wronged in that deal. He chose to handle things all on his own the way he did, despite offers of help and alternate arrangements having been available. I don't see how he was screwed over by anyone else in the deal at all, if he's had other problems outside of that one deal, he could well have explained them to the other group members in private.

Z, your tardiness in sending shipping money is the first I've heard of someone else not doing something they'd arranged to do, but Ti should have contacted you privately about that. I know I contacted you personally to try to determine what was going on with the deal and got no response.

Ti, when you choose to make your own bed, you have to sleep in it and if you choose to air the dirty linens in public, the fallout from that is also your own responsibility.

True, while it is not "General 68KMLA News & Stuff," and it is mainly private bickering, it's here now. The thread has been created and so the only thing your or I or anyone else has to see of it is the title when we click active topics. You don't have to read it, I say let them settle their disputes here. It's can't really do anymore damage than already has been done, so let them carry on. It looks like things are cooling down anyhow. I don't agree with the way it was handled, but I can't change that, and neither can you, if a moderator wants to lock this, then let him, but really we can't do anything than escalate things by saying shut-up and take it elsewhere... They may come after you or I next, you never know, so it is better to let the moderators deal with things as they see fit and just let this stuff slide by without acknowledgement.

Uninvolved comment time

When the original auction was mentioned in the "APB Cinemo" thread, I actually had the intention of participating. I watched for a day or so, and when Jeremy (Ti) got involved I decided it wasn't worth it for me. Was I the only one not surprised when things went sour?

I know some of you are out a great deal of money, while someone has profitted quite nicely with little to no investment. To have this sort of action just pop up suddenly leads to anger not only from the parties involved, but also from the general forum base. My only advice to jt and any others harmed here: Contact an attorney to get in touch with this child's parents. We have a well documented and public record of most promises made, and I am sure that legal recourse, however drastic, may be in order.

quote:

Unfortunately, this seems to be the only way to get Ti to talk.

Geez.. I was excited about the possibility of trading/buying some old parts for my 68k macs, the Trading Post has some great deals in it, but if this is how things end up, I don't want any part of it.

I'm completely happy to be here, to be able to share my experiences and learn from you all, and I have a lot of respect for this place as a forum.

At the same time, I hope that whoever owes whomever money has the common decency to take care of their loose ends.

Usually, from what I know, things happen rather smoothly, but there is a risk involved. It's your own call, but I'm trusting of the people here, and I expect them to treat me as if it were and eBay relationship.

Please know that this sad state of affairs was only due to a particularly complex multi-coastal team-bid for some difficult to inventory boxes of old Apple parts of EBay. Issues of how to divide the spoils, who claimed what when, who was dealing with whom, and what was fair given who had contributed what caused all the acrimony. It was definitely the "Perfect Storm" of ill-fated transactions. As foetoid said, simple Trading Post deals don't devolve to disputes like this.

Glad you like it here!

there is always a reason that I will make suer that I have $$ for purchasing AND shipping something before I go and buy it....
that way I can actually get it... the deal ALWAYS goes off MUCH smoother this way... that's just a GIVEN....

I'd say, as a hint for the future of general selling and buying, to ANYONE... don't buy if you don't have enough, and don't sell if the buyer doesn't have the funding...

So no one remembers the trials I had to go through to get a trade done with him? I had to do a Mapquest for him to show him where his local Post Office was, he asked "how do you want this shipped?", I said USPS Priority Insured, it comes to me via a Mailboxes Etc UPS.

Good luck to those involved.

Hi TiMac! Long time no talk, really sorry to not have contacted you sooner. Anywho, the 9500 is mine, and I guess what I need to know is if there is any way for you to send it with anything other then USPS who wont deliver packages to my house. If you are having trouble getting it to a place that will send it, Fedex and UPS should both be willing to pick it up.

If you cant send it with anything other then USPS I can still have it sent to my office but I would prefer not to. Other then that, just tell me how much shipping will cost and give me your address and I will drop a check in the mail within a day.

So whenever you get the chance just drop me an email or IM me. (I leave AIM on 24/7 so that will probably be the easiest.) Anyway, sorry again for taking so long to get back to you and being a pain about the shipping ;) CYA!

Excellent, a Jeremy bashing thread. Jeremy, you still owe me money or parts from a LEM Swap-list deal last August. Now I don't really believe that you will ship a darn thing, but I may as well take the opportunity to yell publicly at you.

Maybe bashing was the wrong word. It is a strongly worded discussion with Jeremy about the things he has at his house that belong to other people, some of which were paid for a long time ago.
