I'm curious, what's everyone's favorite game? I'd go with maelstrom and escape velocity(I was a die hard fan, and I'm still loyal. That's why i include it. It's only fun so many times but...). Maelstrom is good for HOURS. In fact, I'm gonna go play it this instant. Woohoo! I'm pumped.

Kings Corner - a very addicting card game which was on the drivers CD for my NewerTech USB floppy. It runs fine on my 650. Interestingly enough, the drivers CD also has the full version of Maraton and a demo of Marathon II...very cool stuff. Kind of an old place for it though

Ah! Patriot Command! I played that one quite a bit. I think I tossed the CD I had it on though...anyone want to email me a copy? I can't find anywhere to download it

Hey does anybody remember "The Village"? The reason I ask is because there's this apartment complex around here that goes by the same name and it's logo on the fron sign looks exactly like the icon that the game had. Very bizarre...

Yeah, the Net Bolo Campaigns are pretty meek nowadays. Sometimes I setup an AppleTalk LAN with my macs and have a tournament when old friends come over, but not very often. I think we should start a 68kMLA Bolo League. Heck, the MAF has the UT and the SETI teams, why shouldn't we have a 68k-native gaming club?

you could just post them on an http address so all of the 68k mla soldiers (or at least just mods ) can enjoy it

Hey, that's a good idea! Tonight I'm going to drag out all of my 68k games and stuff, put them on my iDisk and make them available here. Hell, I can't imagine it counts as piracy after all these years. Most of them were shareware anyway.

no, most of the old games aren't supported/sold by the makers anymore.
you can get Wolfenstien 3D and many other good games at the Macintosh Garden:

If by addicting you mean crappy, I completely agree! Also, it was a huge pain for me to play cuz it ran slow as molasses on my quadra. I'd have to leave for a few hours in order for time to pass so I could make money. Often terrorists would plant bombs while I was gone. Simtower is lame...

Yeah, Sim Tower was a big let down, especially for me since I paid $95 for it. It really needs a powermac. Anyway, Yoot Tower is better.

it runs rather slowly on a 610 sans FPU, but it is rather decent on my 650

What? What aboutSHUFFLEPUCK CAFE?

One of the first games on the Mac that impressed me.

Also, a few of the Arcade source code games were converted to the Mac OS only. Joust, and Defender were inluded. I wish I had bought them! I can't find them now.

Oh yeah, and there was a good Star Wars game for the Mac, simliare to the 80s arcade game.

Yeah, I used to play the Star Wars game on my Mac Classic (which I still have). It works great on most any Mac. Shessh, and I remember putting quarters in Video machines to play essentially the same game.

There were also a number of text adventure games for the Mac also.

Wasn't there a game called "Solarias", seems like I saw it on a Mac II at college.

There was a lot of good games for the Mac that imitated the 80s video games. Games like Star Castle, Tempest, Galaxian, all have Mac versions on the web, it you look.

Solarian! Whee! It still runs on my G4/350! It's shareware, so if you want to try it out again, I can try putting it up for download.
