LUUUCKY!!!!

Hey, if you don't need/want QuarkXPress, or one of those macs, I'm looking into possibly doing the next issue of the MLAgazine on a 68k, it would be very fitting don't you think?

I have a Mac IIsi I'm sure could run Quark 3/4(68k versions), but my AudioVision probably doesn't do a high enough resolution for desktoppublishing, and the IIsi won't work (as it is) with MultiScan monitors.

I should ask dad about the possibility of me liquiding (alot more) of my stuff, so's I can get a Quadra950 or Q800 or something, I have a MultiScan 15" I can use with a quadra if that opportunity comes along.

TO ANYONE IN THE IMMEDIATE DENVER, CO METRO AREA. . .

Savers, a giant thrift store in Boulder has 10 (count em 10) "LC" type macs. They range from LC to the Performa 4xx (same case as LCs). LCs, LCIIs, LCIII, LC 4xx. . .Other machines not in the LC size are a Quadra 630 (w/o CD :-(), Centris 610, and PPC 6100. They also have keyboards and mice and monitors. Complete sytem with Monitor keyboard and mouse is $9.99, but I am sure they ca be bargained for. I opened each of em up and some are missing RAM, but most other have slots filled. No crazy cards, mostly LC PDS Ethernet, no 68040s (for the machines that would have em), just 68LC040. They also had two old ass PC machines with an assload of PCI cards in em. . .mostly graphics, sound, and modem. . .

I picked up a TRS-80. Don't worry, Commodores and TRS-80s are just a hobby

cory,
maybe I should get that 6100 and do an article on "What can be done with Centris 610 hardware."

maybe thats just an excuse to buy more macs. . .

Cool! Great find, wisof.

I'll have to go check these babies out. A complete pizzabox 68k with ethernet is a steal at $9.99. I could use another monitor too. I've got some spare RAM, so even the unRAMed ones might be OK. Now if I only had time to get over there.....

ANY article you can do, is a great thing!

I'd really enjoy anything you decide to write, and am not sure if I'll keep the "feature" dealie for the MLAgazine.

Thanks for the great offer! I probably should go there myself and poke around in all the systems. At this point, my Mac needs are getting complicated because I am running out of room to store the beasties. I hope you find some great Macs!

Thanks Again,

Its funny, sometimes you do something with someone. . .it becomes something you do . . .

My girlfriend and I would go to garage sales every weekend, but she goes to school in London, and last Wednesday I took her to the airport, so she could return to London for the school year.

Couldn't go to garage sales this weekend. . .tried to make myself go to one, but it wasn't the same. She used to kinda egg me on to bargain and find deals, she thought it was funny that I could be b's'ing my way to a bargain, and keep a straight face.

so, alas, no macs were liberated this weekend by me. . .I think it was about time to take a weekend off.

I guarantee that if you drove around Boulder, CO for one hour on any given Saturday between April and October you will be "appeased" by some kind of mac/computer find.

Appeased is what I say on a day garage sailing when I am not searching anymore. I have found something that eases my garage sailing urge, and thus appeases me.

just know, that in one hour in Boulder, you could hit many, many garage sales! It is wierd! I never have known a place to have such consistent garage sailing.

My roomate got back from Spain, so we went out this morning. MOstly looking for 35mm slide projectors. No finds today, but Savers here in Boulder has organized their vintatge mac section! Now there all stacked up nice and neat. All of the LCs were there still. . .actually everything I saw last week was there, plus now there is an IIci or xi. . .not too familiar with those, but it did come with an external 5.25" drive. . .hmmm
