Nice job on the forums.

Only thing I would recommend changing is some of the colors. For example, the reply screen I have right now shows Dark Gray lettering with a Royal Blue background. It makes it hard to see what it says there.

Heh heh, nice. Once I get off my duff, I'll eMail ya ~Coxy ;) All in all not to bad a Forum engine, infact I admire the 'advanced' text-handling tags not found in MAFs. The only qualm is that the replay interface is kinda 'cluttered', nut I'm sure I'll get used to it.

woo-hoo! i'm a mod!...well anyways

that royal blue/grey thing is rather irritating (sp?)

also...we should jack the MacAddict forums smileys and make them ours...does ths forum engine support custom smileys?

hmmm, now i can edit my own posts (that wasn't there before was it?)

heh, one more thing...i'll start working on a more presentable logo specificially for the forums...link will be available within 48 hours

oh yeah, almost forgot

mods for individual forum sections need to be assigned too...I'd be willing to head up "Quadra/Centris". Being the owner of several Quadras (including a Centris 610), my knowledge is vast.

whoever is going to head up "Original Macs" need to be very familar with the innards of these compact macs (specifically CRT stuff - analog board, crt itself, etc..) and the tear-apart (which can be very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing). Personally, i have no knowledge of that so it would obviously need to be someone else

Similarly, the head of the PowerBook section need to be familar with the innards and general logisitics, which are significantly different than a desktop mac. Once again. I have no experience with PowerBooks so another man needs that job....

I made a much much much much much more subdued logo for the forums...tell me what you think (don't worry, we can go all out on the regular website logo later)
http://homepage.mac.com/mla68k/forums.gif

while i was at it i made a replacedment for the logout picture (it kinda clashed with...well everything)
http://homepage.mac.com/mla68k/forumslogout.gif

~Coxy, do you think these could be suitable replacements?

I would gladly do the Powerbook section.

As some of you know, I own 4 different Powerbooks, the 145, 180c, 230, and 520c. I have completely disassembled and reassembled all these units without a problem, and I am familiar with all the major and a good portion of the minor aspects of the Powerbooks.

If anything, the only area I don't have experience in is with the 150 and 190 (which are only slightly different than the other models out there.

OK, now taking applications for the moderatorships of the specific mac forums...

I don't see any problem with the reply screen? What browser are you using, and where exactly is it unreadable? I'll try to fix it.

New logo should be up... yep, it is!

I'll get to work on the emoticons thing.

With the reply screen, I am using Internet Explorer 5, monitor set to millions of colors.

Like the new forums logo.

It's ~Coxy here, hiding...

Anyway, I've created this test Moderator to try out stuff, but you can't fix up posts and stuff! I'll have to fix that, mods.
P.S. Look in your in-boxes for the next assignment.

This post will self destruct in 5 seconds.

I'll be the Mod for the Original Macs forum.

I'm well aquainted with the insides of Plus's, SEs, SE/30's, Classic IIs, and I think I can figure out the rest [;-)]

I almostlike these forums better than MacAddict...

Coxy, can I mod the MacII forum?

I have a IIfx and a IIci, the two highest-end II models, that I'm in the process of tricking out to no limit. I'd love you forever!!

I would love to moderate the Buying and Selling Forum if it's not to much trouble. If I can't have that forum I can take what ever you give me. If you could It would be great if you could add a Newton forum. If you would do that I could moderate that. If not , I can moderate Buying and Selling or anything else you would want me to.

thanks

Yay! I'm the Mac II Mod!

Good idea, Spirit. We should have several software threads, something like this:

System Shtuff - Obvious

Productivity - Apps that get the work done

Design - Specialized apps for multimedia

Games - Obvious

UI - Specific apps for customizing the UI

Hello all!

I'm new at this, but I thought I'd give it a shot since I have 20 some macs (I'd have to go count, and I don't want to right now), at least 17 of which are 68k. I like the way this is all set up, but as was pointed out, software forums would be nice.

Just thought I'd give my two cents (or three, or four...)
