If it works, I'll take that 2.5" 120MB Duo hard drive. Then I'll have a good use for my Duo 230. Unless I get offers for it before I get an answer from you :).

All but the 120MB one (see the post right after yours) and yes, any of them will work in a 180c. Which one do you want?

What's the scoop on that RAM?

Damn...I knew I was forgetting something. Okay I have to get around to checking it tonight. I just need to find a copy of System 7.1 that will fit on a floppy...at present I have no way to boot the IIfx up without one.

Here's a source for old System software from clawson on the Low-end Mac forums:

http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/

/Mr Lynn

PS This 'Gamba' has a link to the Collings Foundation here in Massachusetts, a private museum of old cars and aircraft, which I visited with my son when he was in elementary school. Collings has, among other neat stuff, a B-24 Liberator and a B-17 Flying Fortress, which they fly around the country to various air shows and other events. Worth a visit to the Collings Foundation site, just for the photographs.

You don't need to send the 120MB HD anymore. Found one that should work good.

jruschme, Anubis and Macdaddy, I sent out your packages yesterday.

Still nothing on the IIfx RAM, I forgot to test-boot it yesterday...had to clean my apartment up. The bedroom still looks like a nuclear testing site, but at least the living room is sparkling...

Actually, no. I downloaded the A/UX disk image twice off Quadra's server but it must be corrupted, because I can't mount the image. I've tried getting it from other servers but either the download speeds are horrendous or I get kicked out before it can finish. I just gave up...so unless you know of a better place to download A/UX, I can't help ya.

Oh - I just saw this message... the A/UX disk image isn't mountable - well, it is but it breaks as soon as you mount it :). It's a very small macOS partition, and the rest is the A/UX installer in an A/UX partition.

Y'should be able to just drop it into toast and burn from there - and then that CD should work happily. Booting from the boot floppy automagically starts the CD image running/installing in A/UX mode.

Here's what's still available:

Macs/Cases =

LC 475: Completely empty (outer plastic case only, no internal parts!) and in very good condition other than one of the "locking" tabs being broken off.

Quadra 660av: No HDD, no CD-ROM, no RAM/VRAM, either mobo or PSU (or both) are dead as it won't boot, full '040 chip has been replaced by an LC040.

IIfx: Working mobo but with no RAM (being sold separately in this thread), missing the prerequesite internal SCSI filter, but will boot from floppy (of which TWO 1.44MB drives are included inside!). Top half of the case is spray-painted black (and badly at that), bottom half is original and in decent condition.

Drives =

5.25" x full height 8.6GB hard drive (works, but cannot copy large files)
3.5" x third height 230MB hard drive
3.5" x half height 80MB hard drive
Two 2x caddy-loaded CD-ROMs
Several 1.44MB Floppy drives (ask away!)

RAM, Peripherals 'n Parts =

4x IIfx 64-pin RAM chips (not sure of amounts, will check back and update)
4-port serial switchbox
2x 5.25" drive-sleds
4x 3.5" drive sleds
7500 internal drive shelf
IIci internal drive shelf

Manuals =

Apple Personal LaserWriter manual (fair condition)
IIsi manual (good condition)
Microsoft Word Reference manual (very big! good condition)

PowerBook/Duo Stuff =

Partial Duo 280c: Missing PRAM battery, LCD screen/top case and RAM.

Broken Duo 270c color LCD screen with microphone, attached to the metal case stiffener (LCD works, but is badly damaged. A series of cracks run from the lower right hand corner outward).
2.5" 320MB hard drive
2.5" 240MB hard drive
2.5" 120MB hard drive
Complete bottom plastic case from a Duo 280c
14.4k internal Duo modem
Duo PRAM Battery
Broken Duo 2xx series trackball (track ball will only go left and right, and not up and down).
Dead Duo 280c motherboard (completely fried and one of the prongs on the battery terminal is also broken).

Cards =

RasterOps 24MX 12" Nubus video card (look here for details)

SuperMac DigitalFilm double-12" Nubus card, missing breakout box

ATTO Silicon Express II 10MB/sec max 50-pin Nubus SCSI card (cannot get it to work, may be dead or may need a driver I can't find)

Apple Mac II 12" Nubus video card (Toby)

Apple AAUI Ethernet Nubus card

3x Apple High Performance PDS Video Cards (for 7100, etc., empty slots)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

MrLynn, sorry, I haven't figured out what size the IIfx RAM is yet. I'm going to try to find out either tomorrow or Monday.

Wonko, I'm going to try downloading A/UX again. I have OpenStep 4.2 on CD already, though, if you want it. What exactly were you going to trade me for them? I don't even remember anymore...

OK, I'm interested in the drive sleds. Any idea what they'll fit on? Most HD's seem to have (fairly) standard screw hole placements, but I've got several floppy drives that won't take any sled I've found. They came out of 610-style macs, I think. Some of them didn't, though. I'm pretty sure that the floppy shelf in my Q800 takes a different size sled than the HD shelf. Any help?

Yes, it is. Someone was interested in getting all three of the 2.5", but they never did. I think I was originally asking for $8 plus $4 shipping for it. How's that sound?

Try a BSD if A/UX doesn't work. Do you have the boot floppy for OpenStep? I'd like to try it.
I don't think I have anything worth trading anymore, I'll just pay you.
