bleh! i thought Ti mentioned a 9600 mobo?

Umm, the 9600 motherboard TiMac was talking about was the PowerExpress motherboard, which I asked for. TiMac was confused and though that it was different and PEx was not in the lot.

So in recap: What TiMac thought was 9600 MB = PEx MB

Ok I dont want the 630 upgrade for the already stated reasons.
So all I want is the 9500 a couple of fans and maybe a scsi cd-rom if it looks like there are going to be enough of them however if not Im cool with just the 9500.

Also...I might be able to trade a Powercurve that Im replacing with the 9500 if it would help smooth things out. I feel like Trash is getting screwed over

I have been thinking about claiming some more things, seeing that so many items are unclaimed.
Could someone identify the "misc peripherals"? Does the 7200 mobo work? What are the specs on that unclaimed 6400?

the "misc peripherals" was from before we knew what exactly they were, so disregard that, ill have it off list asap to stop confuzzilation. The 6400 is a 6420, only sold in singapore. The a/v equipment out of it is called by me, but otherwise it has a 3 GB HD, 8 MB RAM i do believe and i think sys 7.5 You'd have to ask Ti for more details but thats what i know of that.

The 7200, i have no clue aboot.

Wonko, thanks, will help a bit in my whole monetary situation. BTW, anyone here from marchie? He stated intrest once fora possible $20. Just wondering if we should save him anything, altho he seems to have lost interest. I dunno.

BTW, Ti, who are u shipping with? just thot id go check out shipping prices so i know how much to save

the 64xxx the 61xxx and the mobos (for the most part) are spoken for, they're all that's left that's of any consequence for me to get my cut, Ti and i need to work out his "something extra for his hard work" and my choices from the list before anything else is open for claims.

when i was reading thru the posts earlier, i noticed that t-bird or somebody else had put in a request for a keyboard prior to wonk's, don't need any (other than the paladin, of course ) so it's no skin off my nose. if wonk wants an apple extended from my pile here, i have more than i want and a few others that i could be talked out of if extended's aren't desirable.

lets get a finalized list for me to go over with you Ti, then the vultures can have a go at the carcass!

*crawls in thread, bowing with fear*

Dare I ask now, but if there is an extra #100 video adapter cable available? I might need to add one more to my list. I'm making a deal with GORDOOM in the trading post and he needs one. I thought that I saw there was quite a few a few days ago, but my eyes are irritated from an allergic reaction to something from work tonight and i can't see very well.

Breaking News to those recieveing Mini-Tower 9600's:

TiMac just confirmed something. Apparently, there wasn't only one PowerExpress logicboard included in the auction. There were 3!

Some of the Power Mac 9600's, as they were presumed, apparently were Power Mac 9700 preproduction units. 2 of the towers are full 9700's, in the original prototype-labeled casing. The third tower is a standard 9600, but there is an additional PowerExpress logicboard outside the case (basicly allowing you to upgrade it yourself)

Whatever boxes are left ond a couple of mobos, unless Ti and i work something out as i think he wanted the 6100 if possible, dunno, i'm still waiting for a complete inventory of all the small stuff.

as far as anything that there is more than enough for one for everybody, that shouldn't matter all that much.

i'm trying not to think too much about it until i find out exactly what the h**l everything is! i picked up a new toy yesterday to keep from dwelling on it.

Okay folks, here's what I'm claiming, assuming none of it is already claimed (which, from what I can tell, is not the case):

The Apple SC20 external hard drive, 3-6 RJ-45 ethernet cables, 1 AAUI ethernet adapter and the wide (68-pin) 2.1GB SCSI drive.

I'm going to be trading a small load of stuff to TiMac for this, by the way.

all the boxes have been claimed, they have just had their numbers changed repeatedly to confuse their identities!

if at all possible, i'd like to make sure Z gets one of the PEX boxes that already works along with the ROMless PEX Mobo so that maybe the two of us can procure some ROMs for it somewhere and then he might just reinstate his offer to give me the extra mobo. if so i would feel a LOT better about my cut of this deal.

hey, Ti! have you finished the liistings of the extras yet?

Anyone have an idea about when we will have everything settled so we can all get our stuff?

All I want is my 9500 and maybe a cd-rom drive to go in it if it looks like we will have enough. Oh and a power and scsi cable would be great. (Any bezels that go with the 9500 would rock too)

Heh forgot to add that since there were about a zillion fans I wouldnt mind having a couple of those too but everything except the 9500 itself is no big deal either way.

1. Doesn't JT get that keyboard...?
2. Is this the 20SC case that cine wants [its big...and blocky...and rectagular
3. Are you sure that isn't a Mac inside the PC case, thus making that "unknown chip" a PEX mobo? I heard somehwhere, probably on 'Fritter, that Apple just sent out motherboards to the testers - leaving them to find their own cases...just a thought
4. Hmmm, doubt it's serial...perhaps VGA? Can we ( I ) have some pictures?
5. What kind of interface do these cards use? PDS? PCI? NuBus? Proprietary? Perhaps they're PDS cards, or even the "TV" part of the "TV/Video System" that connects via internal ribon cable
6. Is this the mini-mini-mini-mini-Apple-tower-HD, or the blocky 20SC?

...I'm know I might be an "outside" to this whole deal...but just trying to help out!

Good points Firewire, let me explain...

1) He does get it, I was just listing
2) It is large and flat and beige, btw there are 2 other cases that are Apple Profiler cases
3) This is a plastic top to a laptop case, the ram fits inside an old 486 laptop I have
4) Serial when i say that I mean, like Printer/Modem port serial, it has at the end a port which looks the same as the adapter you get to use an external monitor on a powerbook 5xx.
5) these are strange cards, and I have pictures, I will put them up asap.
6)read 2) btw again no hard drives in any case.

what kind of processor cards, if any, (whatever they are) are in the PEx towers that are already assembled?

do they all have ROMs except the bare PEx mobo?

if they do, can you get the revision info off the stickers on the ROMs?

are all the ROMs in PLCC packages in sockets as seen in the shot on fritter?

have you attempted to boot any of them?

i'm just trying to determine if we need to complete the configuration of any of them besides the bare mobo, and what might be necessary to get that one on line.

the fritter site mentioned a new kind of DAV slot for the PEx:

quote:

A custom A/V architecture was also implemented, with a new style DAV slot.

are the 6AV Connectors with AV vid in and out ports and S Video that you listed definitely for the 630/6360/6500 video in slot, or might they be for that new style PEx DAV slot?

do any of the PEx boxes have a card in the custom DAV slot?

whatever happens, we need to make sure Z gets one that is as complete as we can manage to configure it. it's sure to be featured somewhere, maybe he can even get a special dispensation to have it featured on our site?

From what I can tell, the 6AV Connectors that TiMac was referring to is shown in the middle of this picture (I can see three). That new style DAV slot, might be the Personality Cards, implimented on the Beige G3 Desktops and Towers.

I think that TiMac mentioned to me that the 2 PEx boxes have the AV jacks on the back, and the lone 9600 has none. But with the other ones in the lot, it shouldn't be a problem to add a new one.

did you get a chance to check out any of the stuff i asked about the PEx assortment yet? we should be able to do one heck of a web page about'em!

so far the only problem i see on t-bird's page is with one of the two keyboards. if whovever it was who asked for it first and wonk can't work it out, i already offered a kbd to wonk to straighten that out if necessary.

as far as the boxes go, it'd be nice if somebody labeled this piccie:
