Found for 2 € a SCSI Zip drive.
Was just the drive, no cable, no psu, but already have some units (clic of death ) so didn’t complained.
Very clean, and the SCSI is not common.
In the end working great, so pretty fair deal.

Nice. The mechs are basically the same across the board (at least, as far as the classic externals like this go) so if you have a SCSI type with the click and a working parallel type, you can swap mechs and restore the SCSI one.

I don't believe it's difficult to prevent the click but it does involve disassembly and installation of a tiny o-ring at the back of the head suspension arm. I think the OE material (when it's present, which it isn't in the dead clicking ones) is some sort of green foam but a thin rubber o-ring would work in its place.

Also that stupid clear window tends to pop out with the slightest pressure so while it's open I like to put some glue around the edges to try to keep it in place.

Yes i have swapped a couple of units, yes more or less the same internals.
This unit is pretty nice, still have the protection covering the window.
So far have several ones, including one complete in box.
