Weird battery behavior

Ok, the Lombard works as long as I don't make it overheat. For learning PHP/MySQL it's pretty good and runs cool.

I ran it off of battery for a few hours yesterday, leaving it idling. When I plugged adapter back in it was showing 1:15 remaining. This morning when powered on it shows that it is charging but the remaining time has been steadily decreasing. It's now at 14 minutes. The four LEDs on the side of the battery are also on.

What's happening and what can I do to fix it?

Are Lombard batteries anything like Wallstreet ones? On a Wallstreet the lights on the battery are on when it is charging and when fully charged they go out.

You could have issues with the hardware where the battery isn't getting charged at all. I don't think betteries go from having a few hours usefull life to almost none in one day, should be a gradual process.

It is probably a combination of what Unknown_K said and the fact that I think the "remaining time" shown while its plugged in is time until fully charged.
