The 40S slowly starts to spin, there are a few short bursts of reading for a system folder.
When I popped in a 7.6 disk tools disk, Drive Setup says the drive is "unsupported" and prevents initialization. SCSI Probe detects it but can't mount it. Patched HD SC fails to find a suitable drive. And Disk First Aid only detects the floppy drive. [None of this changes, except the additional recognition in SCSI Probe, when I replace the CD drive midway in the chain.]
The current jumper settings are EP (enable parity) per the preset, and I put a jumper on A0 after the third or fourth attempt - no effect. Any thoughts?
