Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
7 can apparently be patched to work on a G3 as the limitation in it is artificial, while Toast 8 (the current version) seems to be actually compiled only for AltiVec. 6 works fine on OS X with no modifications, and 5 for OS 9.
Try Googling for it - I did find it once a while ago when I was looking at doing it before I got my G4 upgrade, but I can't seem to find it now. There is a patcher but that is only for 7.0.1, which you can't find anywhere (you need Toast 7.0.1 for the patch to work, and that is a superseded update level so is no longer around for updating a copy of 7.0 with), but I seem to remember seeing some instructions for hex-editing any version of 7.x as well.
i just tried looking for it, this is going to be a hard one to find, every link i found to DL it is dead, or the time has expired on the link. i have even tried web archive. maybe you can find it on a hotline server or FTP.
but its going to be hard to find using google, i tried looking for the diffrent file names in google, tried looking for it by name alone in google.
and most of them link to the same dead place.
it seems the site hosting it died sometime in 2007 (as shown by web archive) and the domain site.
Do you mean the patcher for 7.0.1 or the official updater that goes from 7.0 to 7.0.1? The G3 patch is here, top result from Google, but I don't know where you'd find the prerequisite 7.0.1 update. Also that's quite an old revision of 7 anyway, you'd probably be better off finding the instructions for hacking any revision of Toast 7 manually.
