The SE/30 and the broken disk drive

Hi

As is the tradition at this time of year, my nicely manicured hard disk is just off south for the winter, complete with the contents. My SE/30 is not happy.

EBay seems expensive for replacements. I have got a load of Sun SCA disks lying around (4GB iirc). If I get myself an adapter (e.g., SCSI SCA 80Pin to IDC 50Pin Adapter (on ebay as we speak)) do you think I'd have problems connecting one to the SE/30? Has anyone got experience of doing anything similar? Is the poor geriatric power supply going to give out after 10 minutes?! :ii:

Thanks!

Thanks. Good information about the SCA conversion. Sorry I missed the thread.

I might have a look at the AztecMonster thing instead, as this may be a better long term solution...

Cheers again!
