System 7 Utility to Sanitize File Names for Uploading?

Does anyone know of an easy drag & drop utility for System 7 that can sanitize file names? Looking for something that can remove special characters and replace spaces with underscores. I know Fetch does this automatically when you upload a file, but looking for a utility that can do that on its own.

im not sure if this will do what you are wanting as I haven't used it before but a quick search on macintoshgarden.org came up with this:

If you know AppleScript, it’s fairly easy to create a script to automate tasks like this.
Some example scripts are available.

@Chopsticks Ah, thank you.
@mikes-macs I forgot about that. And I am using System 7.1.1 Pro, so I do have AppleScript. I could make a Droplet.

It also occurred to me that I could just do it on a modern computer as well since the file has already been BinHexed. Might as well do it in AppleScript. I've found that scripts are surprisingly compatible between modern and vintage Macs, so long as you restrict it to the older vocabulary set.

@Chopsticks Oooo. That Drop•Rename worked perfectly. Thank you. I can create a whole list of rules. Now it'll strip ™, •, ®, ß, and ƒ from names and replace spaces with underscores. I'm adding it to my tool kit. :)

I used to enjoy writing AppleScripts to automate repetitive Finder activities. Many shareware products came from scripting.
