System 7.5.5 how to change it file assonciation, default program from filetype?

Hello,

i how to change default app for open particular filetype extension on System 7.5.5?

click on the name and type a period and the extention filetype.  IE .img, .jpg, or you can "get info" of the file and maybe change it there.  Usually just changing the name will make the system acknowledge it as such.  It doesnt convert it, just makes it think its that filetype and associates the program to it.
