HDMI0 connector has gotta go, need it for internal display use for starters. Power plug lines up perfectly in the chassis, but the HDMI connector impinges a bit on the I/O board's location on the right side of the chassis. Target/victim is a Duo 280c, removal of the connector makes the backplane appearance more balanced as well.

Plan is to grind away the shield's connection to its legs and then fire up the hot air gun. I can the desolder the remainder of the pins to clean things up afterward. Does that sound like a plan? Looks like all the connections are on the back edge?
Any suggestions on what to use in reconnecting the pads to a cable or something pointed rearward for hooking up to an LCD Controller?
Bodge wires for internal USB connection are a breeze as it and the Network Connector are thruhole . . . I HATE SMT.
