SE/30 dead SCSI Bus. Reflow NCR IC? Or other suggestions?!

Hi guys,

I have another SE/30 here which isn't recognizing any drives on the SCSI bus (internal - used two working SCSI drives) and external (My ZIP Drive used to Rescue these macs).

I saw this very interesting video from techknight:

And I think he said he did reflow the NCR (scsi controller) IC.

Is that right? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

There are a few questions to be answered.

Has it been recapped? has it been cleaned? is the hard drive known good? because bad hard drives can hold up the bus.

Then finally, you need to buzz out the traces between the SCSI IC and where they are supposed to be connected to.

Hi.

Thanks for answering.

Yes, the board had the caps removed, cleaned (washed) and then recapped.

The internal HDD runs Fine in my SE and the external SCSI too.

I Will do a back trace in the NCR IC then.
