SCSI Zip drive cable

I have a SCSI Zip 250 drive, but unfortunately, I have no cable for it. Where might I find a replacement? Will any DB-25 male-to-male cable do? If not, why not?

IIRC the pin outs are not the same and will lead to some bad mojo.

SCSI Cables are also thicker and marked SCSI. It's been a while since I used an external SCSI Zip... 1998 prolly, so hopefully another member can confirm or correct me.

Avoid parallel-port printer cables just in case there's anything funky in the wiring.  IIRC correctly, SCSI cables are wired straight through pin for pin, and all lines are connected.  Best bet is to find a known SCSI 25-25 cable.

Would this cable do? It's a DB25M to DB25M "extension" cable (I assume "extension" implies straight-through). Is three feet (914 mm) too long? It shouldn't be, since my old cable which broke wasn't much shorter.

3 feet should be fine, but that is labeled as a serial cable, not sure if that would work. A good SCSI cable is likely to cost more like $25 (or more, but shop around, <$25 is reasonable).

I have a combo scsi/parallel zip drive, and it uses the same cable. Just plug it into the scsi or parallel port of whatever machine you want to use.

I don't think I've ever seen a difference between the parallel and SCSI DB25 cables. Both have worked fine. Can't be worse than the scarily thin ZIP Plus cables which are also universal.
