Resurrected Compact Macs!

From left to right:  512k, Plus, SE, SE/30, Classic, Classic II, Color Classic (Mystic)

I've been busy the past couple of months.  5 of these 7 Macs were brought back from the cold beyond through various component level repairs.  The exceptions being my SE who recently got a SWIM chip upgrade.  The screen is getting a little wiggly on ol' faithful so it might be time for an analog board recap there too.  Also, the classic is only a shell having fallen victim to the dreaded exploding Maxell battery scourge.  It took out the motherboard and half the metal frame.  I'd love to get it back it in working order but I'll probably just wait and see if another Classic comes along that isn't in such rough shape.

Congrats,

I have been busy too with Compacts lately, saved a lot (mainly Classic and Classic II's) except for a Maxell killer battery.

Congrats! I have my Mac IIc's (ci's & cx's) to resurrect first and then I'd probably get a couple more compact Macs, especially a Color Classic and an SE.

Ask the members here, maybe somebody has a spare Classic board they can sell you. As for the metal frame, if it is not paper thin from the corrosion you can probably use a product called "Naval Jelly" to remove it. It's powerful stuff so be careful with it. It is used in the automotive industry to remove rust from car fenders. So don't let that "cute pink" color fool you...

Since much of the Analog parts are the same on all the Compact Macs expect for the Color Classics, you can bulk buy them to fix them all at once. The Flyback Transformer, C1, L1, Q1, and so on (though labeled different per model) are the usual suspects. The Larry Pina "... Repair and Upgrade Secret" books has the list of the "usual suspects" to deal with first. Ask Uniserver about getting them in .pdf format.

Great haul here! Reminds me of my old lab! Congrats.
