R2DG-31 failure in a 512Kb model

Hi

I've a Macintosh 512Kb and my floppy disk broke up last week, I've disassembled the floppy and the problem is a small gear inside the R2DG-31, is the one connected directly to the engine and since I guess it's impossible to get a new one, does anybody knows where can I find a R2DG-31 to replace it? Probably the gear is the same in R2DG-38 (at least in the pictures seems it) but anyway I can't find any 38 and I would prefer not to replace the entire unit.

Thanks in advance ;)

Thanks, I founded that but I'm not very confident with those printed parts.

Anyway I've ordered one, will see if it works.

I'm sure you'll be fine. The important detail is that those are NOT 3D "printed" -- from the listing "it's been produced with a Mold and not with a 3D printer". So they are made especially for this purpose.

I've installed several new ones and they've worked fine. They are a tiny bit noisier, but not meaningfully so, at least in my experience.

Bear in mind, though, that the original gears are weaker than the surrounding ones deliberately, to avoid burning out the motor if anything gets stuck in the drive, a bit like the mechanical equivalent of a fuse. So you do need to be a bit more careful about getting stuff stuck in there than you otherwise might. But compared to being completely useless, it's a big upgrade.
