PowerDuo rides to the rescue again!

NIGHT STALKER

I pulled my trusty BookKeepin' 2300c out of mothballs when all my other computers were temporarily belly-up.

It's a nice feelin', all warm-n-fuzzy even, to fire up a trusty companion of many years for backup. Most especially when a pair of more modern Macs are in the process of being upgraded or in the initial stages of setup. And even your almost brand new NetBook's OS is on the fritz (Windows XP H.E.3, if you can imagine such a thing! ::) ) and can't be booted from ANYTHING, but a generic ubuntu DVD into a live session . . .

. . . and you've spent HOURS & HOURS on the phone with HP Technical Disservice!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > :(

Enough ranting, it was a GREAT PLEASURE to slide PowerDuo into the DuoDock II, hear that familiar BZZZZT, press the ADB startup button on the Mac Converter box of the KVM setup, see the Happy Mac at 16" resolution pasted across the face of my 23" 1080p LCD and then navigate about her desktop with my wireless KBD-n-Mouse setup!

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I should get around to buying a dock for my PowerBook Duo 2300c; haven't been able to acquire one yet. :O

Ahh, yes...there really is something about the simplicity of older Macs that just seems to.....work that newer machines lack....

You betcha, comrade! :D

I've got three Q700s, well . . . two Q700s and another one with some kinda' extra slot equipped PPC MoBo hacked into it, all supporting a huge MDF shelf I built around my 40" plotter.

I'm in the process of doing a feets-graft on all three so that when I fire them up sometime, they won't burn up from having their lil' tuschies air vents blocked up by the nap of the living room carpet.

jt: inveterate hackmeister . . . =8-\
