Powerbook keyboard problem

My powerbook 145b is finally working but now the keyboard only recognizes some keys. I replaced the keyboard twice and reseated the connectors same problem. Sometimes the keys work and now they wont. Is it the keyboard or mabie logic board? Thanks

Your keyboard or the ribbon cables have to be the likeliest culprit, rather than the logic board.

Oddly enough, I was just working on a dead Powerbook 145. Your’s was dead, I believe. How did you revive it? I have so far failed to get mine to show any signs of life at all.

What issues you having with it?

Well i ordered a new screen for mine and replaced the inverter board. The thick gray cable was loose and needed be replaced. Also i cleaned the boards and took out the memory card. I already replaced the keyboard but same problem.

Also that  thick gray cable has to be bent a certain way or it wont boot at all i figured that out the other day.

Mine shows no signs of life when pressing the power on button. The power supply is good -  it will start up a PB160, for example, so it is not the problem.

I may have a spare logic board from a 145b here in a box of parts, so when I get “a round tuit,” I’ll probably try that. It would be less work than fiddling with the fuse.

Was the fuse your problem or that cable you mention?

I never knew there was a fuse. The problem was the gray cable on the interconnect board were the clock battery is. Also make sure the cable is fitting right when when you put the computer together.
