Powerbook Duo 270c hinge repair

Hello,

i bought a Powerbook Duo 270c on eBay. Unfortunately the hinge doesn't work properly. It is not broken but can't hold the display in place. When I disassemble the Notebook I notices a wired substance on the hinges, like dried fat.

I attached a picture of the hinge.

Is there a way to repair the hinge or do I have to buy a new one?
