Last year I think I got the best deal of a lifetime on FB marketplace, found a PowerBook 520 for $15 in near perfect condition. It came with the power supply, a working hard drive, and no cracked, or even scratched plastics for that matter. I don't think I'll ever get this good of a deal again.
About a week ago, I finally managed to order a new screen for it, as the only imperfection with the PowerBook was a faulty screen. I managed to get a screen used in the PowerBook 540c, the Toshiba LTM09C017. I found out today while plugging in the new screen that it required a new screen to board interconnect cable, as the old cable was made for a greyscale screen. However, the only cable I found was for a Sharp LQ94D041.
My question to anyone who's familiar with these laptops and more specifically the displays that go in them is, will the Sharp cable work with the Toshiba display, or will I have to hunt for a new cable or display?
I can find a new Sharp display, there's several on eBay. However, there was only one of these interconnect cables on there, so I'm guessing It'll be a long time before I'll find one that matches the Toshiba display.
If they don't work, would anyone out there be able to sell me that very specific cable from a parts machine?
Would really love the community's support, thanks.
