I have bought a Powerbook 1400, running on Mac OS 9. I want to format it but I don't have the CD-ROM module, so I have download Mac OS 8, the last version on floppy disks.
However, when I boot to the first install floppy I have the "welcome on Mac OS 8" screen, when only the "continue" option. I clic on "continue", agree the license, I select the internal hard drive and I have this message: "The selected disk is locked".
If I launch the installer from Mac OS 9, I can make a fresh install but not erase all the drive.
What I can do for format this drive and install Mac OS 8? I don't have the adapter to connect the drive to an other computer for format...
