Oh yes. Reservoir tip shop strike again.

Amstrad NC100 NotePad, untested, no PS, $2. I have been looking for one for about ten years.

My recollection of these: a kid at my school was always boasting about how much money his parents had etc and was generally full of shite. For about six months he kept going on about he was going to get a "notebook computer" with the works - quite a feat considering they were several thousand to buy at the time. One day, he turned up with the very Amstrad NC100 notepad, and was laughed at all day :)

Funnily enough, Amstrad used to make decent stereos in the late 80's (a mate had one, and it looked great for it's time), and who can forget the Amstrad MegaPC: a 386 and Megadrive in one desktop case? :)

Nice little find B.

Amstrad stuff is relatively easy to come by here, since I'm in the UK and it was/is a UK business. Bunsen let us know how much it sucks when you get it running. :D

how much it sucks
Bog off, beardy. :p Google is your friend.

will the PS be hard to "engineer"?
Naw, it's just a standard DC barrel jack. 6V DC

It's the fact that it's small, light, battery friendly, and has both a parallel port and a programming language I'm familiar with that gets me wet.

I bet he got more actual work done than the mockers with their $6,000 286s

Sure, well that's on my seeking list too. I'm not entirely sure they're not hardware clones of one another.
