Macintosh Performa 200 - floppy slot

I've got a Performa 200 that died but I've repurposed into a Mac Studio. The Studio fits neatly inside and I've got it hooked up to a 7.9" display which gives it a classic functional vibe. It even has a curved piece of resin in front to give it a CRT look. I'm wondering now though - what could I do with the floppy slot? It's just wide enough for USB-C ports, USB-A might be a little tight/impossible though. Has anyone tried this before or have any thoughts/ideas? Pic below of my set up.

Impressive. The fact you could fit a Mac Studio in a Performa 200/Classic II, set me wondering what a Mac minified Performa 200 would have been like. So, the approximate dimensions of the Performa 200's logic board were: 20.5cm x 12.0cm (246cm²) vs 19.7cm x 19.7cm (388cm²) for a 2012 Mac mini (and I think the newer ones are basically the same).

So, fairly clearly there's a significant level of similarity, including the fact that all the ports are on the back (I know some of the ports for the Mac Studio are on the front now). I guess if the external FD interface was replaced by a composite video it wouldn't need more space for ports either. Then, because the PSU didn't need to power a monitor, it could be less beefy. And if the ROM/FPU expansion slot was eliminated, it'd be only 18.5cm wide.

It would probably have been quite cute too, with a mini-pizza box, Snow White design style. Finally, I think it shows that there's been a potential market for Mac mini-style Macs going back to the Classic Mac (I didn't say the original Mac, because the PCB itself was much bigger).

Nice job, looks nice. Can we see photos of the rear of it or is it cut up and hacked?
I suggest the slot could be used as a place for a card reader. A credit card or debit. Or a bill reader. You can charge $1 for 10 minutes of fun with it to anyone who wants to play.

Sure! Here's what it looks like. I refuse to cut it up unless absolutely necessary, so I'm using right angle, up facing adapters for HDMI/power/USB-C around back. I'm still waiting on my right angle power adapter so it's a bit of a squeeze (the front is not quite flush) but otherwise I simply run the cables out of the old openings. I also have an iPad mini 6 mount for this case that I switched back to using, since something happened to my display config and macOS started sending the LCD panel YPbPr again instead of RGB over HDMI, which causes the colors to be wrong on the panel. I could fix it but it just keeps reoccurring unfortunately.

I also located a perfectly sized USB-C hub for the floppy slot (4x 10Gbps USB-C 3.2 ports, Amazon Link) that I just have to figure out how to securely mount. Thinking I might need to take some measurements and ask some 3d design/printing wizards to create some kind of strap that I could glue to the case or even better, screw to the existing holes used by the motherboard cage. I did like the credit card idea, but this seems much more functional, as the USB-C cables fit perfectly :)

Behold - my Performa 200 with a USB hub in the floppy slot! Had someone design & print a part to hold it in place (screws to the 3 points around the floppy drive used to hold cages in place previously) and just got it today. Fits like a dream, except I had to put the Studio on it's side. Fortunately I have a bunch of 90 degree adapters to make the ports usable.
