Macintosh IIci - (Story) - Spending extra "$" Still Vintage

I have (2) IIci's one is Nice, Clean, got some money into it as well!

The other one was sent to me as a (parts) free beater(Witch, I got fully working again).

It's just funny, I grabbed the Nice one (with out hesitation) plugged it all in, because i needed to make this 6.0.8 powerbook140/170 boot disk, an sure enough the floppy was borked.

The reason why its so funny, is because I grabbed it with confidence, that this one would absolutely work, Because I am in the hole big time with this one.

but i laughed, unplugged it, set it down, picked up the free beater, cracked case, IIci, captainbob sent me, the one that I rescued from the dead, after some one tried to cap it and failed miserably, Fixed the floppy, when I did the mobo, the floppy drive was all rusty (probably sat in a dumpster somewhere for a while), I just squirted some gun oil on the slides when i had it apart,

It booted up and made the boot floppies no problem.

Moral of the story: Just because you put a hunk of change forth tward a vintage mac, does not mean it will work :-p
