Got a Mac Classic? If so, then you've got an 18-year old Mac (at least in spirit, anyway).

It was originally released on October 15, 1990, the same day that the Mac Plus was discontinued.

My personal Classic was manufactured in March of 1991. When was yours?

Mine must have been one they had on the shelves for this occasion...I've got an August 1990 model!

Don't forget it's also the 18th birthday of the LC and IIsi!

Happy "Macs for the Masses" day everyone!!!

It doesn't seem that long ago to me that the Classic and LC were "The New Models"...
I remember that feeling too, especially with the LC. I still remember the first time I used an LC (not until 1991). I instantly fell in love with the machine and a few months later had one. (That same LC I bought in early 1992, right before it was discontinued, is sitting directly to my right as I type this).

And to think the PowerBooks are 17 this year...I remember when they came out (as well as the Quadras). I used to go to Office Max just to see the PowerBooks on display and always asked for one for Christmas...first it was just a PowerBook, then the 165c, then the 180c, then the 540c...didn't get a Mac laptop until 2000 when I got a clamshell! (That machine is directly behind me as I type this). When I didn't get the laptop all those years (despite being on good behavior) I had just assumed Santa's elves didn't know how to build a laptop...

(Santa Claus, if you're reading this, don't get ANY ideas about outsourcing...)
