Mac Classic CRT / Analog issues or how to turn 2 Classics into One?

Hi all,

Looking for help to try to get a working classic from what I have.

Some time ago I acquired two classics. One I was told did nothing on power-on, and the other while the owner had listed it as working, when he went to test it before actually selling it to me it shiwed a checkerboard pattern, so ended up getting it for less and thinking of a recap.

When I checked the for sure not working one, it was a real mess with rust in the metal structure, etc. And the logic board had plenty of damage such that I was told it was not worth salvaging.

So I focused on the other one, changed the caps, all good and *looks* like I did a pretty good job. Now the thing is when I out everything back together, I flip the switch and hear this awful crackling noise from the analog part! Wtf..? So first would be what can the problem be there causing this?

Second, while the logic board was crap, I was suggested to try the first classic’s analog stuff in combo with the other one, to at least get ine working unit... So I hook everything up, flip the switch, instant off and fuse blown... I was like “wtf, was. It 110 and I hooked uo to 220?”  We have 220 here, and I was also pretty sure these were wired for 220 but just in case tried hooking it up to 110, same result, instant off, fuse blown...

So... looking for some help / advice / something that I can go by to check, replace, etc. To at least try to get one working mac from these two.

Thanks.
